If you ever find yourself needing a
quick pick-me-up, just cruise on over to Giphy and look at the
skeleton tag - delights abound.
Let's get to it:
- The Severance Theme sounds SICK on Classical Guitar ... - can't deny it, it does sound sick.
- Gou Miyagi - Heroin's Video Nasty - even if you do not consider yourself a fan of skate videos, please watch this. There is so much delightful absurdity woven in here that it's impossible not to appreciate.
- Pioneer LaserDisc logos in Space - been spending some time with the Audio Visual Identity Database and running across gems like this one.
- The Fibrovisor - turning a dollar store fiber optic wand into an actual lo-res display. The end result is quite neat but the process to get there is unfathomable. The patience required! Remarkable little project.
- George Harrison 1992 "Taxman" - some rehearsal footage for an MTV performance at Shepperton Studios. I don't claim to know much of the history of this clip but I love the alternate lyrics and seeing members of The Heartbreakers playing with him.
- ULTIMATE SOUR MILK SEA MASH-UP (2025) - speaking of Harrison, "Sour Milk Sea" was a Esher demo from him, properly recorded by Jackie Lomax (with multiple Beatles backing him up) and now subject to a lot of Beatles fans using AI tools to create new versions. It's a fascinating mashup and a very fun rabbit hole to explore.
- Daffy in Wackyland - I swore I posted this previously but maybe not! I don't consider myself much of a Daffy Duck cartoon watcher but the style and manic energy of this is undeniable. It's like Claymation Beetlejuice, Ren-and-Stimpy, Sifl and Olly Show, Gumby and Memphis Group design vibes got thrown in a blender and put back together in the best possible way.

I was gonna use this
Veep GIF for the cover but it was just too real. You're here for relief, not reminders. So, let's get to the enjoyable distractions!
- Lifeforce trailer - have we talked about this 1985 Tobe Hooper movie about Space Vampires? It recently got the whole restoration treatment and I think it's time I finally saw it.
- C64 Demo: Phonics Is Dead - YouTube has realized that I need to be aware of all things Commodore 64. This demo is fantastic but considering it was made on a computer from 1982 is unbelievable.
- David Lynch on Living & Dying - the only upside to Lynch's passing is that clips like this bubble up. This is not your typical Friday Videos fodder but, damn, it's 3 minutes of delight.
- TV Wheel: The X Box - did you know Joel Hodgson (or MST3K) had a 1995 pilot called TV Wheel, funded by HBO? It's sketch comedy show with a single camera mounted inside of a giant rotating mechanism. It's 37 minutes! I can't really decide if it's funny, which isn't a great sign, but there are lots of familiar faces in there (I spy David Cross).
- Backflips - I continue to highly enjoy Montessori Boy and continue to wish they posted more on YouTube, as I can't quite seem to get TikTok into my regular rotation.
- Fofão - have I mentioned Fofao here yet? The Brazilian children's show mascot that is pure terror? I don't think I have. I'm sorry to bring this to your attention if you weren't already aware but if I have to know it exists, so do you.

The Superbowl is this weekend, please consider following
this kids lead and decorate yourself with ice cream. I mean, just try it out. Here's some videos I've been hoarding that I'm now ready to share:
- Chazmo Finally Goes Home - this Tim Robinson / Sam Richardson commercial series has been around for a bit but this is the Superbowl version. A bit gruesome but a fitting end to the series. If you have not seen the others, please watch them.
- Every Company Now - 94 seconds perfectly describing every company.
- February is the worst month - apparently this weatherman's screed against February is from 2016 but I'd never seen it before this year. His deadpan delivery is spot on. I don't agree with him but I love his vibe.
- Fountain by Zilvinas Kempinas - there's not much to this video but this cassette installation piece is mesmerizing. I'd love to see it in real life.
- Corgi Skateboard - America's Funniest Home Videos walked so this Internet video could run.
- Mike Patton, Adult Themes for Voice transcription - I was already familiar with the vocal insanity of Mike Patton but was not aware that he released an album in 1996 called Adult Themes for Voice - a noise album recorded in hotel rooms while touring with Faith No More. It's difficult to listen to but this transcription from John Curry makes it a bit more engaging.
- David Lynch on the Quest for the Perfect Milkshake - as you may know, David Lynch went to Bob's Big Boy every day for seven years. One of the reasons for this was the quest for the perfect milkshake.. which he actually obtained a few times!
- David Lynch With His Boys - from the Eraserhead bonus materials, David Lynch hanging out with this five Woody Woodpecker dolls. He saved their lives. If this makes no sense to you, that's okay. It's Lynch!
- Subpixel Snake - Friday Videos shouldn't be 5 minutes long nor should they be educational but this is both. It's also wild that this person built a game of Snake using only subpixels. You can't play it because you can't see it! But it exists.
- Norm Macdonald Trolls Conan's Promos - the title is correct. It's a fun dose of Norm.
- The LaserDisc Turtle - apparently if you had a LaserDisc player and put the disc in upside down, you'd get this delighted little turtle. I love him. He seems so content to be wrong side up.

Plenty of hard news out there, let's have a little respite with some Friday videos. That's the belated David Lynch as Jack Dall above - a helluva fine performance. If you haven't watched these
Lynch acting clips, do that next.
For now, let's enjoy some more distractions:
If that wasn't quite enough for ya, go
scroll through these house photos - little treat for ya if you keep an eye out.

We're in that lost week between Christmas and New Year's - a wonderful time of, hopefully, doing as little as possible. I'm going to post a little Friday Videos rundown (admittedly, it is Thursday) and then figure out what's next for this site. A redesign is overdue. I digress! Enjoy and unwind.
- Jacuzzi Suit - Luann Van Houten, Milhouse's mom, dons the jacuzzi suit. May we all be so lucky.
- SEIDÄ PASS KRAMPUS - I know we're outside the bounds of Christmas at this point but these kinds of Krampus parades fascinate me year round.
- World Record Skateboard Slalom 3D!! - this is the weird, inexplicable, internet we all yearn for. More of this, anytime. via Jed.
- ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: THE WILD, UNTOLD STORY OF CANNON FILMS - without a shadow of a doubt, you are familiar with Cannon Films but I've always heard the story of the guys running the show was infinitely more interesting than the movies themselves. Definitely want to check this out.
- The Party Makeup Video - Found Footage Fest rarely disappoints. Once again, a gem.
- Sitting & Smiling #300 - truly unbelievable. a man sits motionless for four hours with an unnerving smile. Motionless. I am sure there are some therapeutic, meditative, upsides to this but wow it is unsettling.
Talk soon. Thanks for reading as always.

I dunno what's going on with that psychedelic dolphin but I figured as we head into the holiday season, we all need something to stare into for a little reprieve from it all. It's actually a great image to
start a deep dive from - you're gonna see a lot of weird things. Good things but weird things.
Here's a handful of distracting videos for you. They aren't particularly
holiday themed but I find them enjoyably ridiculous.
- Jaguar - Copy Nothing - this Jaguar ad campaign has been making the rounds. This is a few weeks old but I still can't tell if it was meant to be dead serious or satirical. I fear the former.
- WKNDR Concept Car - some friends were really losing their mind over this one. Personally, I can't tell if this is serious or satire! These vehicles look like bad CG renderings from A Sound of Thunder! How is this better than The Cybertruck?
- The Librarian: Quest for the Spear - speaking of bad movies, this looks like one for the books! Noah Wyle as action star isn't a terrible stretch but 2004 undertaking just didn't have what it takes.
- NEMESIS (1992) Trailer - I saw a review of Alien: Romulus that said the film was completely ripping off Nemesis from 1992. I don't understand how someone connected those dots but I am certainly entertained by this trailer. It's a B-movie but it is really offering up some innovation!
- Russian Floating Folk Dance - the Beryozka is a dance troupe that performs in long flowing gowns and dresses with a movement that looks like floating. There are loads of videos of this on YouTube and it's mesmerizing. Take the deep dive.
- life in 99 - Kyle Mooney does a little promo for his new A24 movie, Y2K. It's a perfect sequel to his early works. Dude has not lost it.
- 10 hours of silence occasionally broken up by the Taco bell Bong - endurance challenge! how long can you listen and how many Taco Bell bongs are there? Spoiler alert: first bong is at 4:05.
- The Korgis - Rovers Return - after that 10 hour undertaking of Taco Bell bongs, you deserve a downright delightful holiday-ish song from 1980. Heavy rotation for me these days.

Sometimes Beaker is the perfect encapsulation of *all the things.* Truth be told, just about any Muppet losing their mind fits the bill. Hope you're having a good week, here's some distractions to slide you into the weekend.
- FKA twigs - Drums of Death (choreography glitch) - do I know anything about FKA twigs? No. BUT you don't really need any context to appreciate this combination of choreography, office setting and Aphex Twin style flipping out.
- Drive Share - remember the go90 streaming platform of original content brought to you by Verizon? Yea, me neither. But Paul Scheer and Rob Heubel made a series for it called Drive Share and it's pretty funny. All the episodes are here and there's a ton of cameos from names you like. I rather enjoyed this Jason Mantzoukas / Jessica St. Clair episode.
- The Curious Case of the Blocked Window - watch this March 1972 BBC broadcast in full and then tell me if it's parody or entirely earnest. I honestly could go either way.
- How David Copperfield Vanished the Statue of Liberty - I have not thought about this for multiple decades but it did occur to me that I had no idea how Copperfield pulled off this trick. Pretty clever.
- Voyager meets Frasier - in 1996 there was a TV special / documentary called Star Trek: 30 Years and Beyond. It's mostly a clip show and talking heads exhalting the show (rightfully). But there's also a sketch about 30 minutes in featuring Captain Janeway with a rather surprising new crew. It's corny but also legitimately entertaining, especially if you grew up on both of these. No shame in enjoying this!
- Stupid Cookie Sketch - still enjoying the absurdity of Montessori Boy, even if I'm lightyears behind by watching on YouTube instead of TikTok.
- The Ross Sisters - Solid Potato Salad - this takes a full 1:30 to really start. Then it takes another full minute to reveal itself. Stick with it. Insanity awaits.
Other things I'd recommend watching that aren't necessarily "Friday Video" material?
The Most Underrated Painting Ever,
Pickled Herring short film,
Making comics with Plastic Models and
Game Maker's Toolkit Magnet Game (this guy rules). That should help influence your algorithm properly.

Who's ready for some fun? Or, at the very least, some momentary distraction? I certainly am! Not all of these are the bite sized absurdities you may be used to as a long time yewknee dot com reader (that's what TikTok is for) but I am confident you can turn your brain off for awhile here. Let's get to it...
- Marbula One S5 GP4 - the qualifying rounds for some pretty gripping marble runs. Yes, that's right, marble runs. If you've never enjoyed the high paced thrills of marbles running down a track, strap in! And these are just the qualifying rounds! Go deeper.
- World's Longest Waterslide at Escape Theme Park in Malaysia - this thing is 1,111m long. That's roughly 12 football fields (if my math skills hold up). The theme park website is worth a visit when you're done with that video.
- Robert Smith's Funniest Moments - I think the new album from The Cure is phenomenal but I will never tire of seeing Robert Smith be a cheeky little cutie.
- The Interrogation - speaking of TikTok, Montessori Boy posts many funny things buuuuut they aren't really also available on YouTube. Here's a good one and then you can make the leap.
- MF Doom - Vomitspit - celebrating the 20 year anniversary of MM.. FOOD, the animation style on this video is fantastic.
- The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet Was Finally Found - if you have dabbled in lost media at all, you've definitely heard of "The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet" - a bootlegged recording that no one has been able to determine the source of for 17 years. It seems they've finally cracked it!
- Lloyd Langford Standup - I watch a healthy amount of Taskmaster, any of the English speaking variety I devour. Langford was a competitor on the Australia version and quite amusing. His bit here about ice cream really got me.
Have a great weekend. Touch grass, all that.

There was a time when I would post
Friday Videos with great regularity. A little dose of random, distracting, Internet to end your week. Over the years, distractions became incredibly easy to come by on the Internet - TikTok is a wealth of it if we're being honest. Friend of the blog
Luke Kaluzny reminded me of the enjoyment that can come from this so lets do it! What's wrong with a little throwback now and again? Here's an assortment of videos to end your week.
There's also this
Venture Bros cast compilation of character voices but 30 minutes is unacceptable for a Friday video.

Seems like it's been since
February since I posted a Friday Videos. That's a helluva long time between distracting posts of idiotic videos. Frankly, between my
day job, my little
label, my
podcast network and my upcoming nuptials I really haven't had the time to browse for dumb, shareable, content. I still plenty plenty of dumb stuff but nothing you'd want to see!
Aside from my personal obligations, I feel like between Instagram, IG Stories, TikTok and whatever other app is hot at the moment, you have
plenty of distractions at your fingertips. Sure, they aren't curated by lil ole me but a distraction is a distraction at the end of the day! Whatever you need to get by.
I digress. Let's get distracted.
Aside from that I've really just been watching an unbelievable amount of
Taskmaster,
David Lynch Weather Reports and revisiting the
Kazoo Kid Trap Remix. What else should I be doing?
Hope you got that vaccine! Stay safe.

Been a minute since I had enough cobbled together videos for a Friday Videos. Weekly just doesn't feel like a pace I can sustain anymore. I mean, I
am 42 now. Makes sense that I'd falter a bit in my old age. But enough lamenting and explanation!
If you have not already, please take a
deep dive into the GIF works of
Alexandre Louvenaz. They are a beautiful nightmare, each and every one.
And on to the videos. Enjoy!

Inauguration Day for President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris felt
good, real good. Like, I Can't Believe This Is Happening Good. I look forward to a more positive path ahead and, frankly, intensely hope for days on end where I don't have to think about politics.
For this weeks distraction playlist, I thought I'd do something a little different. I generally scour around for quick blasts of stupid entertainment but with the proliferation of social media, you're likely getting a firehose of that anyway. So, this week I'm going to post a bit more long form content that may lead you down some rabbit holes. I might
also add in some stupidity but why not try something a little different.
Enjoy!
- The Tiny Doors of the US Capitol - thinking about the Capitol lately comes with a bitter taste, let this be a bit of a salve. Weird little doors everywhere apparently.
- Guests Making Conan Laugh - there are several more compilations of guests cracking up Conan and they're all quite entertaining.
- Driving Around Lower 9th Ward (NOLA) - this channel is comprised of loads of videos just driving around neighborhoods in various cities. These destinations tend to be lower income and are often noted as "hoods." This could be seen as some sort of racial exploitation but from watching a few, I am confidently positive that is not the authors intent. All told, it's like a ridealong in the Google Street View car.
- TMBG on Leno, 1992 - I find myself revisiting lots of old They Might Be Giant performances lately. This Apollo 18 performance on Leno is a remarkably full band playing "The Guitar" and "The Statue Got Me High."
- Elizabeth Olsen: "No" Is a Full Sentence - the Off Camera chats are always great. I particularly loved this Elizabeth Olsen chat; especially given her family fame and the context of being part of the MCU.
- Can You Spot What’s Wrong with These Phrases? - a Key & Peele sketch that embraces that stupidity I mentioned earlier.
- Why This Chair is On So Many Album Covers - I may have linked this previously but it's worth a revisit. Seven and a half minutes researching why this particular rattan chair has persevered in popularity over decades.
- Fruit Bats - Hummer - did you know Fruit Bats covered the entirety of Siamese Dream? You can find 2 or 3 tracks floating around on YouTube but the full record is a vinyl only release (at this time). Pretty swell.
- Shortest Video on Youtube - entirely satisfying.
Stay safe out there.

We're five days out from the inauguration of Joe Biden. I can't begin to express my excited anticipation for a new era of politics. There may be absolute mayhem leading up to it. There may be intense fallout and stumbling once he's actually in office. I don't look forward to those things but I am incredibly optimistic that we're on the path to something far more stable and less chaotic than usual. Can't. Wait.

It's been a helluva week but I think we can all finally celebrate that we've turned a corner and we're headed towards some positivity. That may be famous last words but I'm feeling optimistic that the darkness of
Wednesday is behind us. Fingers and toes all crossed.
I'm furious and disgusted and bewildered by so much of the past four years. I won't go embrace a rant here but let's all try to collectively figure out how we can hold more people in power accountable for their actions in a timely manner and, possibly more importantly, figure out how we can agree on what are
facts. It isn't hard. Thanks!

Fact: I took three days off work last week to catch up on personal work. Sad but true. I thought this would help me get all "caught up" on emails that I've had lingering since May but, no! It turns out, sending an email generally results in receiving one. I sealed my own fate on that one.
On a positive note, it's Friday. I'm ready to goof off with some stupid videos.

Helluva week. Lots of horrible things happening in the news wherever you look. Hopefully we are all able to see these things as net positives; resolving injustice isn't going to come easy but at least progress is being made and a light is being shined on the problems.
But, hey, you don't come here for that. Enjoy:
