Sorry for the giant cover image this week but I get great delight from imagining staring down the face of a dolphin that just wants to give you a
little kiss. The horror is real.
Please enjoy my
Q2 mix and get some solid giggles out
this guy and
this labradolphin.
- America - lots of positive feelings about America this week but let's not forget what we're really about. A Taco Bell parking lot fight while you order your fast food. via Adam.
- Fan.tasia - there are mashups and then there is this thing. The editing and merging of characters and scenes is insane. When you're done with that, revisit Pogo, my favorite from this genre.
- Stranger Things references - you know how everyone says Netflix Stranger Things is referencing a bunch of 80's movies? Here's the side-by-side.
- Treasure Dance - I feel equal parts bad and very amused.
- Rick and Morty Court Transcript - at Comic-Con lastweek, Justin Roiland read a Georgia court transcript set to an animatic. It's vulgar and ridiculous but works so well as Rick and Morty.
- Morgan and Morgan - Morgan and Morgan and Morgan and Morgan

I am in LA this weekend attending a good friend's wedding. If there are things I
must see while I am out here, please
let me know.
- The Life of Death - a delightful animation. Have watched many times.
- Tower Defense - Glyphs - if you didn't see it earlier this week, the new music for Tower Defense is a good one
- Kylo Ren Outtakes - Star Wars videos are such low hanging entertainment fruit, sometimes they can not be avoided.
- BorkBusters - an excellent palette cleanser for all things Ghostbusters related.
- Jon Stewart on Colbert - Not even a mild misstep here. I miss my Stewart news skewering.
- Futurama - Fan-O-Rama - you know how everyone says puppets and practical effects are always better than CGI? Sometimes the opposite is true and the practical effects and pure nightmare fuel.
It's a lengthy one but
this profile on Bruce William Zaccagnino and his
world's largest miniature train setup is actually fantastic. I've seen this in person and the size of it is hard to comprehend.

What a week! Pokemon Go explodes on to the world and there's absolute travesty's in Paris. Can we have
one good week? Just one! Okay, maybe more than one but
let's just start there.
Enjoy these videos as a means of distraction.
- Possessed Keyboard Player - when you do something, go all in. This girl
does not half-ass it in the slightest. In fact, everyone around here is crushing it but I dare you to take your eyes off her. Bad. Ass. via Becky.
- Stuck Up with Contact Cement - if anyone ever asks you to cite an example of Classic Comedy, steer them to this delightfully wacky individual. Sure it's an act but he really goes for it. via John.
- What is Happening? - nice reveal with this clip from Black Mirror.
- Meowtallica - I can not lie, I think these renditions are phenomenal.
- Super Ultra Seinfeld 3D - if Seinfeld made a movie today, this is how directors would ruin it. It's a dumb joke but the song. My god, the song.
- Yeeee - I call this "Weird Beyond Words." I will watch it 1,000 times.
Oh, and if you didn't see
this yet. You're welcome.

This week in the news was
rough to say the least. I don't have any inspiring words to share about the ongoing violence - both against minorities and police offices. I'm speechless at the state of things lately and I hope we can all figure out a way to come to terms with a way to fix it.
But in light of that, here's some distracting videos. Because there's no better way to solve a problem than to not think about it at all, right? When in times of trouble, fire up the
live BearCam for some serenity!
- Nivea: Care from the Air - did you see the sunscreen defecating seagull? You really should.
- Batman vs Riddler - I normally don't go much for the CollegeHumor skits but, for me, it's hard to deny the enjoyability of a very Dumb Batman.
- Deal With It Robot - Simone Giertz builds yet another useless robot. Don't care for it? Deal With It.
- Major World Espanol - this car lot in New Jersey has the most delightful owners. I can't understand a word of their banter but their energy levels are infectious. If you are, try out the extended infomercial version, it's a delightful trainwreck.
- Cat is Hungry - I could bother to look up the context of this but I enjoy it more in the realm of total absurdity.
- Dinosaur Jr, Tiny - loving this song and the video is pretty entertaining too.
I also recommend watching this bonkers short film,
The Was, featuring new music from The Avalanches and a absurdly huge mashup of films and TV seamlessly cut together. Ridiculous.

Do you watch Jon Oliver? His joke
last week on the Brexit about Britain celebrating their own "Independence Day" was too funny. Trust me, it was good. You should watch it. I chuckled aloud for real.
If videos are not your thing for whatever reason, please enjoy
these Zoo Signs,
these idiot kids and these
Delightful Dogs. If you
do enjoy videos, here you go!

Pretty sparse in the blog department this week!
VHX had our final week in our lovely Brooklyn office and we've made the transition to the new
IAC / Vimeo building over in the Meatpacking District. Aside from all the packing up of a whole office, we also took one last company retreat. Oh, and I flew to Nashville to visit family. Oof. Lots going on!
But despite that, I'll still cobble together some absurd distractions for you!
- When the Lights Come on in the Club - I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonably explanation for this but I refuse to believe anything except Pure Mayhem for the man rolling around in a carpet.
- Clown Core Pizza Party - If this has been posted previously I wiped the nightmare from my mind. Now it's back.
- It's Always Sunny in London - I wouldn't have thought so before I watched it but this is kind of a perfect skewering of the mess Britain just made.
- Google G-Board - really thoughtful ad for the new Google keyboard.
- SpotMini - you know those horrifying Boston Dynamics robots? Yea well, they went and put a "face" on one and shrunk it down. Extra terror.
- Subway Idiot 2 - tons of work for a silly, effective, joke. Loved every second of this. Will watch again and again. Thank you Steve.

Fun fact: I'm home alone this weekend and plan to tear through a bunch of lingering freelance projects. That's right, when left to my own devices I decide to just work more. Super fun lifestyle,
right? Let's hope this bears fruit for everyone in the near future. On to the distractions!
I've also been diving into
this archive of ridiculousness and
this repository of misleading thumbnails and have been quite entertained.
Oh, and as a heavy handed reminder, scrounge up whatever pennies you can find this weekend and find a way to donate to
Everytown. I'd love to not have another weekend filled with tragic gun violence news and the only way that's going to happen is by fueling an advocacy group with enough money that they can be a legit heavyweight in this absurd Second Amendment political bru-hah-hah we've been having.

Let's get right into it. I've had a crazy week and, fortunately, the Internet has provided a solid bevy of distractions and treats to delight.
- Kazoo Kid - Trap Remix - my jaw dropped upon viewing this and I continue to marvel at how much I want to keep rewatching it. Mind = Blown. Thank you Dave and this playlist.
- John Hetlinger karaokes Drowning Pool - the description won't sell you until you discover that John Hetlinger is 80 years old.
- Forever Blowing Bubbles - I have never seen a dog do this before and probably never will again.
- 2001: A Picasso Odyssey - Deep Dream applied to Stanley Kubrick through the lens of Pablo Picasso. Helluva combination.
- Anticipation - I've seen this video before but the musical pairing takes it up a notch.
- The Strokes - Drag Queen - this latest video was either ripped from Tumblr or just directly inspired by it. It's unclear which but, either way, it's a good retro watch.
- Abdul Greeting - next time you're on television doing a high-energy dance routine in front of cameras and a live audience, tell me you wouldn't have the exact same reaction this girl does (around the 30 second mark).
- The Family Auto Mart - how have I never seen any of these? Madness for nearly ten minutes.
- Saint Pepsi - Enjoy Yourself - good to see this Mac Tonight footage getting paired so perfectly.

I'm very excited for next week. 1) It's a short week thanks to Memorial Day, so that's a big plus over here in the States. 2) The
Nightblonde album will be officially released and I can brag on how awesome the vinyl turned out. 3) There's another release around the bend that I haven't even
mentioned yet but it's going to be great.. also unveiling next week.
But I digress. Enjoy
this week. If you haven't seen
this or
this or
this yet... stop stalling. See them immediately.
- Captain Baby - Rainbow Reach - I've always liked the music these guys put out and their videos always take that enjoyment up a notch. They're not expensive undertakings but they always have a vibe to them that is extremely enjoyable. This is no different. Have a gander.
- Turkish Minor Threat - the perfect pairing of a Turkish Parliament brawl and Minor Threat, two things you never thought you'd hear together in the same thought.
- Mozart Dog - dumb but absolutely delightful.
- When Bro's Lose their Minds - wait for it and you'll witness some serious Bro Entertainment.
- Cat in a Box - ever wonder what a cat is doing when it's inside a box? Not much but enjoying it's damn life.
- Barack Obama's Alien Bodyguard - did you know about this conspiracy theory? Barack Obama has an alient body guard. I believe it 110%.
- How to talk Minnesotan - this is part of a full series of awesome passive-aggressive insights into the Minnesota language.
Bonus distractions
here,
here and
here, should you need them.

It's Friday the 13th! If you're in Nashville, go see
D. Striker, the man that
only plays on Friday the 13th. It's literally the only time this year you can see him.
If not in Nashville, enjoy your weekend! I've got many irons in the fire that I hope to stoke this weekend and share with you soon. They may or may not have to do with
this and/or
this.
On to your distracting goodness...
- Can't Stop Watching - why is this ongoing marble maze so fascinating? I can't put my finger on what could possibly make it so appealing but there it is.
- McConaughey Grunting Supercut - the best noises from Mr. McConaughey.
- Clipping - "Summertime" - Endurance Challenge! How much of this freaky face masking can you endure?
- Russian Spears Drone - combine LARP'ing with a skillfull spear embracing Russian and a drone and you got yourself a YouTube hit.
- Wendy's Drink Rap - how long has it been since you dove headfirst into a major fast food chain rap from the 1980's? Probably too long.
- Gimme your attention - I'm sneaking this in near the end but this is clearly the best thing in the list this week.
- Marvin Gaye Scary Cat - okay, maybe this one is the best. Please let this be a new meme to take the Internet by storm.
If you need some useless facts about Friday the 13th,
here ya go.

Sunday is the
May 1st Reboot, so prepare to see some newness around these parts next week. I'm fairly confident in the design and overall spruced up presentation but I welcome your thoughts once it launches.
In the meantime, feast your eyes on
this. It's the future of pizza, I've no doubt.
I also recommend watching
Kevin Smith on Prince; a 30-minute bit of storytelling about the directors bizarre week with the Purple One.

The heat is on for the
May 1st Reboot. There is just over a week left to get my act together and relaunch the site. Fingers crossed that this kind of pressure fuels the fire and I deliver something that everyone enjoys as a needed upgrade
and fulfills some of my own personal goals that I wished to accomplish. I guess we'll find out in about a week, huh?
Enjoy!
- Alice in Wonderland via Google Dream - you know that Deep Dream processor that Google has? Well, someone paired Alice in Wonderland with some classic paintings for the Tea Party scene and the results could not be more wonderful. Stunning to say the least.
- While My Guitar Gently Weeps - I don't know a ton about Prince. I am familiar with the hits and I certainly appreciate his penchant for flair but I don't have a deep well of mind-blowing videos to draw from to pay the man some tribute. However, this Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame inductee video features the man himself taking the solo and, as usual, he absolutely destroys it. Be sure to stick through to the very end where he nonchalantly catapults the guitar from his body, never to be seen again.
- Makin' My Way Downtown - I absolutely don't want to know any back story here. It's weird for weird's sake and that's fine by me.
- My Name is Bady - you're welcome. This kid is a gem.
- SF2 Gun Cat - making mods to videogame weaponry for hilarious results is nothing new but this particular mod is lightyears above and beyond what you've come to expect.
- Swimming Robot Snake - I know I've seen this before but something about revisiting it recently really creeped me out and fascinating me. Can't look away.
- Titantic Sinks in Real Time - it's funny that there's a 2hr 40min video of a ship sinking but it's also kind of tragic to think about how brutal and scary it would have been to actually experience this mind-numbingly slow death.
Also, revisit
Batdance when you have a chance, it's a legitimately awesome piece of work.
One last thing, you must watch
this. Hasbro recently hosted a weird Facebook event where three of their mascots played Hungry Hungry Hippo's but weren't allowed to speak.. so Topher Chris put some
Eyes Wide Shut music behind it and made it
ultra weird. Very creepy.

This weekend is
Record Store Day 2016. Despite some store owners
having concerns and where it is headed, I'm a huge proponent, fan and
contributor to the idea that records - particularly vinyl - are a phenomenal way to experience music. I don't think any sane person disagrees with that. So, make a little trek to your local brick-and-mortar store this weekend and throw em a few bucks, keeping their doors open another year - just for me, okay?
Enjoy these wonderful distractions:
- Bust a Move - Dog Dancing - This is the original vine I encountered of this and the music is perfect. I can't find that version on Youtube, so enjoy the alt version in the embed. No matter what music is set to this pup, the dance moves are undeniable.
- Infinite Schwarzenegger - thanks to Kevin and Austin I was introduced to this gem and I'm shocked I've not seen it before. Aside from the obvious enjoyment of it, I'm amazed at how well Schwarzenegger and steel drums pair together.
- How a TV Show Gets Made - I kind of love this series of Vox edutainment pieces. I knew 90% of this but that last 10% was still interesting enough to get it listed here.
- Logan's Sick Jump - this goes exactly as well as you'd expect it to.
- Rob Crow's Gloomy Place "Oh, The Sadmakers" - maybe not the most compelling video but it's great to see Rob Crow back making music. The style of this song runs the gamut but still manages to work.
- Dancing Dog: 10 Minute Version - what's that? You want a 10 minute version of the first video but with a different song entirely? I got you covered thanks to Pinnix.
Oh yea, give a
listen to this - you'll be hearing plenty more about it later.

One week into April and one week closer to the May 1st Reboot. The heat is on! I've got so many
other great things to announce as well. The spring and summer are going to be filled with new goods around here and I'm excited for it.
- Ray Parker Junior - Bustin - this strange edit of the RPJ classic only gets better the further in you get. Find out just exactly how "Bustin" makes him feel.
- Rogue One Trailer - I admit enjoying the teaser for the forthcoming Star Wars expanded universe title but I'm really loving the immediate remixes. The Internet loves to focus on one fickle thing, huh?
- Swiss Army Man - I posted about this earlier in the week but if you haven't watched the trailer for DANIELS new movie I suggest you do so now, it's a weirdness worth knowing about.
- Run and Run - even if you're no fan of hip-hop / J-Pop, take a moment to watch this on your phone. How has no one done this yet? Pretty brilliant.
- SNL: Trendy Restaurant - the joke may be immature but it works.
- Generic Campaign Ad - the Dissolve took a bunch of stock footage and created a generic campaign ad. It works alarmingly well, particularly the very middle bit. Stick with it.
- Memories of Paintings - Chad tuned me in to this video and I can't stop staring at it. Mesmerizing and absolutely beautiful.
- Legs and Devices - this is supposedly a music video for Carl Finlow but the video was released in 2016, the EP in 2002 and the video material itself in the 70's. Despite all that, it's a nice matchup.
If you require further distraction, I will once again recommend
/r/youtubehaiku as it contines to provide some quality nonsense.

absurd, hilarious,
ridiculous and
dumb news items making the rounds. Unfortunately, there's none of that to be found here! I'm doing my best to stay on track for a relaunch on May 1st, which means
no time for jokes!

I'm giving myself a quick trip to Nashville this weekend to partake in the release shows for
Tower Defense and
POLY. If you'd like to see me, come to The 5 Spot or Club Roar, respectively. I'm very happy to help these bands release their great music into the world and hope others enjoy it as well.
On to the distractions!
- Bunny Eats Berries - there is something magnificently horrifying about this, as innocent as it is.
- Sanders Scares Trump - excellent editing skills here.
- History - of course I'm going to push more Tower Defense on you! If you haven't seen this video yet, enjoy.
- Black Cat - and a reminder to enjoy POLY.
- A Prank Time - this is maybe too weird for sharing but I was entranced by every single second of the 4 minute runtime.
- Ukulele Batman vs Bagpipe Superman - the Internet is a weird, weird place. The video is funny but imagining these bozo's filming it is even more absurd.
- Sophia the Robot - nightmare fuel. This is the epitome of the Uncanny Valley.
- Vangoffey - Trials of a Modern Man - I was (and am) a diehard Supergrass fan. I've been enjoying the solo works of frontman Gaz Coombes but am super pleased to see that the other members are continuing on making music and, in the case of Vangoffey, it sounds a whole lot like Supergrass.
- Clown Trailer - I'm not much of an Eli Roth fan but this trailer for his new movie really feels like a total parody. It's actually based on a parody trailer but doesn't look like he did much more with it. Very strange. via Lee.
- False Colors "Portrait in Smoke" - something about this video entrances me. I can't imagine the editing process but it's 100% mesmerizing.
- Guy Pearce "Fly All the Way" - did you know Guy Pearce made music? Did you know he made an absurd music video promote it and it has less than 12,000 views? The weirdest part? The song itself isn't half bad! via Paul.
I also recommend
enjoying this little surprise.

Last night I attended the final show of

Idle Bloom opened for them and I see great things in their future.
Some of this weeks videos are culled from
Hinman Hyperlinks. If you don't know

Also, take note: there's a
Conspira-SEA Cruise. A yearly cruise in which like-minded souls gather together to uncover the truths of the world, on a giant boat. I dare you to watch the hourlong roundtables posted on their site.
