Many thanks to Tony Kiernan for the heads up on the Rutherford Chang art project, We Buy White Albums and this Dust and Grooves interview with Chang himself. An art show consisting of only the White Album might not seem compelling at first but once you see the condition of some of the records, it should make sense.

Beyond the physical collection of albums he has also created a 100x Layering of the album, each layer being a different physical version of the record. The outcome is surprisingly listenable and just a bit haunting.
