R. Stevie Moore is one of those artists that people will be discovering over and over again for as long as recorded music is available and marveling that they'd never heard of him. Basically, he's an overly prolific creator that found the perfect niche with home-recording. He's put out more than 400 self-released cassettes and is considered a "lo-fi legend" in some circles. He has a rich history and a deep discography - which is exactly the problem.

Over the past month or so I've been trying to familiarize myself with his offerings and found that it's daunting to know where to begin. So, I'm offering you three entry points that I found worthwhile and maybe you will too.
  • RSM Reforms The Beatles - everyone likes Beatles songs, right? This is familiar territory with a new aesthetic.
  • Flash Pasteurized - a "Greatest Hits" compilation of sorts but the songs have been sped up without raising the pitch. It's an excellent variety of styles and the tempo keeps you interested.
  • Instrumentality / Aviation - some interesting environmental instrumental music to fill your day.
Maybe if we all take this on together, we can hear it all.
