what's the deal with fonts?

Without having researched, or even googled, I have to ask - whattup with fonts have different names in Photoshop versus Flash? The Univers family is a prime example.. the font itself is the same, but in order to get Univers 67 face, you need to use Univers 47 in Flash (or something like that). Not having made any fonts, I wondered how this came to be. Anyone?
