Two Dots

posted May 29, 2014 #

I am an unabashed, unashamed, diehard fan of Dots. The Patrick Moberg / Betaworks game was simplistically perfect in my opinion. Incredibly addicting and enjoyable from all fronts. So, when I saw that Two Dots - a new puzzle game born from the same world - was available, I downloaded immediately.

The new game will undoubtedly receive comparisons to the likes of Candy Crush or Bejeweled, as it is a series of puzzles set in various imaginary worlds with characters that accompany you, yet have little impact on the actual gameplay. Fortunately, that's a very broad comparison and should stop there. The game is fun, addictive and pleasant to interact with - all the things that I loved about the first - but now there are actual goals to accomplish and a finish line to strive for.

From a more surface level it should also be noted that the artwork is delightful, the UX is smart and the music is off the charts good.
