If you're an avid NPR listener, you're probably
already familiar with Carolyn Hopkins, the voice of most public service announcements. Regardless of that, there's plenty of new information to glean from
this great article on how Mrs. Hopkins - and the male voice counterpart Jack Fox - came into being the predominant voice heard in subways, airports and loads of other places. Surprisingly, it starts with R&B music coming out of Louisville, KY and a little startup called
IED.
