I've been watching Rollum Haas play music for almost twenty years. Most folks know him for his drummer work in The Features but he also contributed a great deal to the songwriting. Furthermore, he's an integral part of Coupler, Tristen, lylas and, lately, New Man. All that is to say, when I got the opportunity to work with Rollum to help release his debut album as The Robe, I was quite flattered to be involved. Due to scheduling and making sure we had the right timing for the release, I've ended up sitting on the album for awhile. LP's have been in my office for a few months and that's generally not the case. Fortunately, all that waiting around turned into fevered excitement (for myself) to get the record into the world and now it's here.

Of course I want you to buy the vinyl but, really, I just want you to give it a listen. I've tried categorizing it in previous posts but nothing I've come up with really does it justice. It's an amalgam of a lifetime of influences and playing with various bands and it's certainly not just one thing. Compare "Face to Face" with "In the Morning" and you'll get a good taste of the range we're dealing with here.

TLDR: artist whom I greatly respect releases debut album and I'm excited about it. Give it a listen.
