I've read a whole lot on Birdcloud, their kind of comedy, their kind of satire and whether or not they're racist themselves or shining a light on racism. It's a discussion that requires a grasp of nuance and an understanding that there's not a definitive hard line on the final decision, there's plenty of grey. All that being said, this Houston Press article The Most Dangerous Group In Nashville is a great example of a writer that gets it. The approach Birdcloud has is sometimes offensive, sometimes crass and often shocking but it's also reflective of the culture they come from and almost always satirizing that world.

It's a great read and a discussion well worth having, no matter what side you fall on. It's not an easy conversation to have on the Internet but nothing ever is.
