  • Google: Make Your Phone Your Wallet - As previously discussed, the future of banking seems to be inevitably tied to your phone. NFC will see to that. Oh, and apparently Google will too. They've announced that they're field testing their new Google Wallet - which you can read about here. I have a bit of trepidation about having my account be tied to my phone but I think it's the inevitable future.
  • WebP: 39.8% faster than JPEG - in other Google news, their new image format WebP seems to finally be getting some steam for adoption. As I said before, I don't foresee this taking off big time because of the pace of Internet Explorer adoption but it's nice to know that influential folk are starting to rally behind it.
