So, I watched this PBS Documentary last night - Steve Jobs: One Last Thing and, on the whole, have some mixed feelings about it. It doesn't do a very good job of showing a comprehensive look at all the innovations that Apple was involved in but it does provide some rather candid interviews and footage that are worth seeing. Interviewing Eddie Izzard seemed weird but the anecdotes from Pixar's Dr. Alvy Smith and close friend Walt Mossberg were great. There's also a small amount of footage from a rare interview with Jobs giving these inspiring words:

When you grow up, you tend to get told that the world is the way it is, and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life. Have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is everything around that you call life was made up by people who were no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.

Granted, it's easier to say such things when you're a multi-millionaire before you're 25 but it's rather convincing when you hear him say it. Jobs probably gets put on a pedestal more than he should but there's no denying his passion and his conviction.

All and all, the whole thing just wanted me to watch this Bill Gates, Steve Jobs interview that Mossberg did in 2007. I've never seen it in its entirety and it looks like the more worthy thing to watch.
