Solaris

The first time I saw Solaris (the 1972 release) I was just a bit overcome by sleepiness. Tonight, I saw the 2002 version of Solaris and got just about the same reaction. There were some beautiful shots, some decent ideas, but in comparison to the book it was very poor execution, bad casting choices, weak story and not enough of the actual planet! If it happens to come on TV one day, and you're already kinda tired.. I recommend it.. but I suggest reading the book (it's a travesty that Clooney now adorns the cover).
