I hope by now you've seen this Russian Dash Cam Supercut featuring the most unbelievable collection of wrecks and traffic behavior I've ever seen. It's not just unbelievable, it's scary terrifying unbelievable. ANIMAL NY has a nice writeup on the Russian Dash Cam: Russia's Last Hope for Civility and Survival on the Road that explains why so much footage exists of all these terrible things happening; namely protection against litigation.

My question is, if US citizens did this would we have the same level of insane footage or is it something particular to Russian roadways? Are they specifically more horrible drivers or just better at documenting it?
