Revolver 50th Anniversary

Tomorrow, August 5th, marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles Revolver. For whatever reason, this particular album (and Rubber Soul) always struck a chord with me. I always think of them as a couplet and, for me, they act as the bridge between the first era of Beatles and the second, more experimental, era.

There's no shortage of reading when it comes to Beatles stuff but the Wikipedia entry is actually surprisingly compelling. I had no idea that the cover art was 1) Drawn from memory and 2) won a Grammy for Best Album Cover.

I suppose a post about The Beatles isn't all that compelling but it's just here as a reminder to dive back into one of the band's finest pieces of work.
