Design Language News has a great piece on the Remnants of a Disappearing UI. Specifically, the interactions a user makes on an iPad. I may not agree with the statement that "It’s hard to appreciate the variety of UIs, since turning the screen off removes virtually all evidence of them" because that's true of any computing device and even moreso with one you don't actually touch. One could argue there is more evidence of the variety of UI's on a touch interface because you literally leave a mark on the interactions you made. Regardless, it's a very clever documentation of software and I commend them for it. I'd love to see this be an emerging trend with software - especially to see if users are interacting the way the designers assumed they would. Click through for the big version.
