Register 2 Vote Registration Map
posted July 8, 2019 #
I recently caught a tweet from one of my favorite musicians, Matt Oliver, who (apparently) also side gigs as a developer and activist. Aside from this fact making me enjoy his output even more, he pointed me towards a project called the Register 2 Vote Registration Map.
In short, the project is a cross pollination of public data that allows you to drill down into your specific state, county and district to see the number of folks who have not registered to vote.
This information is fascinating but they don't stop there. The overall initiative of Register 2 Vote takes the pains out of voter registration. You submit your name and address and they'll send you a voter registration form all filled out with postage, you just need to sign it and drop it in a mailbox.
If you're already registered to vote, you can donate to their cause to help pay for the included postage in getting more folks registered. This can be a direct benefit to your community:

For whatever dollar amount you choose to contribute, our automated system will mail the number of registrations to residents in that region, and our system updates the map's funding completion status. That way, you can follow the impact you're making! There's more specifics in the FAQ but, all and all, this is a wonderful idea.
