Playdate.

If you haven't already been inundated with the news about Playdate, the new handheld gaming console from Panic, please take a moment to browse the wonderful site. Very briefly, they describe the history of the project, the first batch of games coming for it and why it has a physical crank on the side.
It won't be available until early 2020 but it looks like a fun distraction and the price point is only $150, which is hard to argue with.
Personally, I don't own a game console that I actively use anymore but I continue to love the idea of some casual gaming. iOS games are fun but it's not the same experience without a D-pad and some buttons. I'm not sure if I'll order one of these or not but it certainly seems like it could scratch my particular itch.
