Back in 2016, I stumbled into Pico-8, the "fantasy console" for creating new 8-bit games with similar restrictions to games of my youth. I pondered "if the cartridge offerings are worthwhile" but I think the past two years have proven that mild doubt to be unfounded.

Take a look at the list of games on itch tagged with Pico-8 and marvel at the creations! Massive Zelda-esque dungeon explorations, tiny platformers and even Celeste Classic - everyone's favorite recent indie.
