parents house

I tried to think of an elegant, inventive, or witty way to post this but there's really no good way to go about it. I try and keep this log free of uber-personal information but please understand it's also a mild online recording of happenings in my life (it is my website after all). Last night my mother called me and let me know that their house was on fire and to please get there as fast as possible. Upon arriving I found myself forced to do nothing but watch the house burn.. for several hours. Luckily both of my parents (and the pets) were all fine but it's quite a loss in terms of belongings. You find yourself saying "it's only things.. they don't matter" but let's be honest, you have stuff because you care about it and like having it. It's inconceivable to have it all torn away like that. They didn't lose everything but the family heirlooms and many personal effects are pretty much a lost cause. I appreciate the kind words I've already received from alot of people and hope that in the end this all works out for my parents. (This post also serves as quite the valid explanation of lack of posts).
