If you weren't aware, the local college radio station here in Nashville (91.1 WRVU) was recently sold to NPR and turned into a 24/7 Classical station. It is, to say the least, a bummer.

One of the bigger losses, to me, is that many of my favorite shows are now off the air forever. One such show is Out the Other - brought to you by Janet Timmons. She's always been a huge champion of the local music scene and her show did a phenomenal job of blending upcoming shows in the area from national acts, highlighting worthwhile local bands and bringing in Guest DJ's to give a slightly different musical perspective. It was, in a word, great.

Long story short, she's not letting the death of WRVU stop her from broadcast. She's taken to the Internet airwaves. Point your browser over to her site (or her SoundCloud) and download / stream the first episode of the new incarnation of Out the Other: the Podcast.
