I'm pretty intrigued by this PBS piece
Blackout, about a hot July night in 1977 that left the entirety of NYC in total darkness - resulting in looting, arson and general panic. Seeing the footage where only a spotlight from a slow moving car is the light available is pretty creepy but incredibly compelling. For a nice overview,
