While I find the death of Kodachrome to be a fairly unfortunate happening in the world of photography I do see much potential for a slew of projects to make their way out into the world now that people have seen the light to really make something of their obsolete film. For example, this forthcoming film from The Polychronic Conservatory looks to contain some amusing vignettes and capture the spirit of the film type effectively.

This NY Times article also tells the tale of loads of people submitting their film to Dwayne's Photo in Parsons, Kansas to have their images birthed into the world. One such nugget from the article:

In the span of minutes this week, two such visitors arrived. The first was a railroad worker who had driven from Arkansas to pick up 1,580 rolls of film that he had just paid $15,798 to develop. The second was an artist who had driven directly here after flying from London to Wichita, Kan., on her first trip to the United States to turn in three rolls of film and shoot five more before the processing deadline.

Impressive to say the least.
