Bryan has been suggesting I listen to Mason Proper for a long time. I finally caught a set of theirs at SXSW and have started paying attention to their output. They just released their second album, Olly Oxen Free, last Tuesday and I've been enjoying the listen. There's a dark undertone to a lot of the songs but not without their upbeat musical counterparts. It's an effective combo - though I think you really should see them live to get the full effect of what it is that they're doing. → Official Site
