I'm fascinated by the fine art work of
Jeff Leonard for two primary reasons. First and foremost, the result of his efforts is beautiful and chaotic. Even when there is a pattern to be found, there's a madness to it that I find appealing. Secondly, it seems that many of the more recent works are actually painted by a
CNC Painting Machine. The process of moving paint around is programmable to a certain extent but much of the result is happenstance. Even with the controlling arduino, there's a level of expression here that is unintentional - does that make it any less art? It's a curious question worth a bit of pondering.
