High Maintenance Soundtrack

Are you watching HBO's High Maintenance? It is, quite frankly, probably the best thing on TV. The general show structure jumps floats from character vignette to character vignette, loosely tied together by "The Guy" - an affable and melancholy pot dealer. On paper, I can imagine it not sounding too enticing but the writers have done an absolutely stellar job of making The Guy believable funny, sympathetic and empathetic.

I can't endorse the show enough but also can't help but augment that with an endorsement for the soundtrack. HBO recently released the Season 2 playlist of artists featured on the show but, more importantly, there's also an entire album of original music from Chris Bear (of Grizzly Bear). The songs are short on that original score but such a delight. Fingers crossed they release another volume of these for the latest episodes.
