Hale Links: Volume 28

$11 Super Wide Angle Digital Camera - or rather an $11 DIY method of making your small digital camera appear to have a ridiculous wide angle lens. Really ingenius idea.

Printing Press Folding Chair - it's not exactly a "dynamic" solution but it gets the job done and it gets it done right! Maybe you could switch out chairs for different jobs. Again, another clever DIY solution.

The Simpsons and Science - Did you know that 178212 + 184112 = 192212 is actually a proposed solution to Fermat's Last Theorem? Did you also know it's a quick background joke on a Simpsons Halloween episode, written by David X. Cohen? Apparently loads of Simpsons writers are actual math and science nerds and insert all sorts of subtle jokes here and there. This may explain why some of the actual plots over recent years have been sub-par but it's fairly fascinating to know that the writers of such a (mostly) entertaining show are throwing in so many well thought out asides. The Apu reference to pi is probably my favorite.

Armchair Upholstery Print - the examples given for this new service are pretty much awful but the possibilties for greatness exist.

Power Transformer Houses - why put a big ugly power transformer in a neighborhood when you can put a big ugly power transformer in a neighborhood disguised as a local house!? I'd like to see one of these coupled with a Fraud Frond just for the biggest impact.
