Daniel pointed me towards this interesting article on Freelensing, a technique in which you keep your SLR lens detached and tilted during exposure to create off kilter focal points and, honestly, a warm feel to the images that often gets lost in the world of digital. You can browse through a load of samples using the technique here.. all of which look pretty great. If I had an SLR, I'd throw caution to the wind and try this out. There is the potential for dust to get on the sensor by detaching the lens in this way but a good photo would be worth it, right?
