There's not a designer out there that isn't vaguely familiar with the work of Charles Eames and I'd venture to say that the name probably even resonates far beyond the design world - Eames is a name people are familiar with, even if they have no idea why. I certainly could stand to know quite a bit more about Charles and his wife Ray. So, it was quite the pleasant surprise to stumble upon the documentary Eames: The Architect and The Painter. How I'm just now finding it is beyond me but it looks to be a worthwhile view, to say the very least. It is playing in a number of markets and hits DVD as early as December 7th (hopefully this means streaming on Netflix as well). Looking forward to it...
