It's been about a year since I heard about the language learning site Duolingo. In that year's time I have learned exactly zero new languages. Fortunately, it appears that you no longer need to be tethered to your computer in order to use their services as they've just announced their iPhone app. It's a free download, looks well designed and might actually be an effective way to use your break time to pick up on some rudimentary communication skills. Imma try it.
