Two links from Daniel: 1) Brainy Computer - The "ASCI Purple" and the "Blue Gene/L" are slated to become the world's biggest/best supercomputers. Using 4.7 million megawatts of power a day - certainly not energy we could use elsewhere. The comparisons of computer capacities to the human brain are interesting though I'm not sure how accurate. 2) Upcoming new phone tooth - a cellphone that fits inside a tooth. Definetly has some impracticalities but the technology behind it is redonkulous. Not something I personally would invest in, but I can still marvel at it.
