Captured

There's no argument that our society has a prison problem. It's a deep and complex issue but, at the end of the day, too many people are in prison. Additively, are the right people in prison? Well, the The Captured Project asked the same question. In fact, they asked it to a bunch of inmates and then requested that they draw or paint those they felt should be imprisoned.

Make no mistake, this is commentary on White Collar crime - and how business leaders get away with more simply because of their power and monetary positions*. At the end of the day, there's a sadness to having prisoners make art about individuals that they feel did as bad as they did and even sadder that we don't necessarily recognize them as being right.

I don't believe it's a black and white issue that the President of a company is always to be held accountable for the activities of his megabeast but it's an art project.
