Alx Preston, Hyper Light Drifter

A few months back VICE released this great piece on Alx Preston, founder of Heart Machine and Hyper Light Drifter. I'm not sure how I missed it but I had no idea that Preston had a congenital heart disease and the struggling protagonist in Hyper Light Drifter was one way for him to deal with that affliction. While this is likely old news to most of you, it's new to me and adds an extra layer of complexity to the game. It's very unfortunate that Preston has his condition but the reflection of it inside the game adds an extra layer of humanity and relatability to the experience.
