99% bbsolete

Interesting article about web standards and how Jeffrey Zeldman feels they are imperative for the longevity of the web. I agree with about 99% of it. I do not agree that a majority of the web is obsolete. I also am skeptical of his push for web standards, especially coupled with the fact that he says the only constant on the web is change. Standards are prone to shift just like anything else, so if your page complies with whatever W3C standard now, who's to say it will 10 years from now? Interesting read none-the-less. Link via the615.
