VBS has been running a 12 part series called "Garbage Island" - about a small boat crew that adventures out to the middle of the Pacific Ocean to check out this giant (as in: possibly Texas sized) whirlpool of man made trash all swirling together from different continents. It's a bit of a slow watch at first but I think it's worth watching just to be informed about the existence of said "Garbage Island."
