I caught the trailer for District 9 the other day and was intrigued. It has a very odd vibe overall - semi-documentary style, semi-huge big budget summer blockbuster ala ID4 and semi-vaguely cheesy TV sci-fi piece. How it blends all these together effectively is yet to be seen but I was interested enough to check the official and explore around a little bit - a welcome immersive experience into that "world."

I think it is safe to assume that the film is a slightly puffed up version of director Neill Blomkamps Alive in Joburg; a film about extraterrestials living as refugees in South Africa.
