Enjoy your weekly
distraction playlist! I feel like it's better this week than it has been in the past few.. so really savor it.
- We Are Brothers - this is the result of two ridiculous brothers wishing their middle sibling off proper fashion - by begging and pleading for him to not "leave them" via original 80's music video. It's actually incredibly well done in every respect.
- 90s Week on Sundance - part of a trio of promotional animations from the Sundance channel. Incredible work and amazing references throughout.
- 80s Week on Sundance - part two of the trilogy - more greatness throughout. Really stunned by how great these are.
- 70s Week on Sundance - part three and probably my favorite. They all have similar styles but this one hits just right.
- Eagleheart Teaser - even if you have zero interest in the show, this teaser contains a pizza briefcase so, you're welcome.
- Every Young Man's Battle: The Movie - the battle against pornography is everywhere. Stick with it until at least the 1:00 mark when our protaganist is tempted by the uncouth and derelict Kevin!
- Infomercials vs The Smiths - this may very well be the greatest mashup of audio and video that has existed on the Internet.
- GettyDubs - what happens when you add audio to stock videos? Awfulness. The toothbrushing is probably my favorite.
- Ween - "The Mollusk" fan vid - how I have never seen this lego animation before is beyond me. It's as close to a literal telling of the Ween song as there could be but it's completely fascinating. Go for the flute, stay for the rotating orchestra at 1:20 - made my week.
More distractions
here and
here as usual. Have a great weekend!

I will be the first to admit that this weeks
playlist is far from the goofy offerings that I usually post but I hope you still find a quality amount of distraction regardless:
- Suzie and Puffu - sometimes after a long week I just like to watch a cat sit awkwardly like a human while observing a kitten play with a ball of paper. The internet is good for that. See more here.
- Flying Eagle point of view - I mean, aside from an intense fear of flying, how could you not enjoy this?
- Plain Sight - more of an artsy piece than anything but it's a nice effect.
- The Double trailer - I am big fan of Richard Ayoade's Submarine and I'm happy to see him with another film ready to go. I don't love Jesse Eisenberg but I've got a good feeling that I'll still enjoy the movie.
- Rotating Moon - more info on this incredible animated mosaic is available here.
- Realigning my Thoughts on Jasper Johns - an entire Simpsons episode deconstructed and ripped apart into vectors - intended to be projected simultaneously on 9 different screens. The results are hard to explain but it's spellbinding.
- Huell Waits - not exactly a spoiler but if you're not up on your Breaking Bad you may want to steer clear from this hour long ridiculousness.
More
here or
here as usual. Enjoy!

The weeks are flying by. What is it they say about burning the candle at both ends? Do it constantly? I hope that's what they say. Here's your
playlist - a bit on the short side this week but I think you'll find something compelling in there.
- Vince Gill confronts Westboro Baptist - even if you have zero interest in Vince Gill or Westboro Baptist (understandably), this is pretty phenomenal. The soft spoken country artist gently calls these idiots out with some of the best zingers I've heard in awhile. Love it.
- Quasi - See You On Mars - some amazing vintage clips paired with a new Quasi song. You should require little else.
- Dumb Blonde - the first Catch Fail is the best. Stop watching after 15 seconds but really enjoy that first fifteen.
- The Scarecrow - Chipotle launched this promo video for their new game and it's intense. Like, seriously dark for a burrito chain.
- Danielle - astonishing animation of emulated aging. It's 5 minutes of slowly perceptible growth... unbelievable.
- Joking Bad - typically I wouldn't link a Jimmy Fallon short film but this is pretty well done if you're a Breaking Bad fan. And, honestly, if you don't love this you need to re-evaluate your life.
- COIN - Yea, that's right! A repost of an earlier blog posting because if you haven't seen this yet, you really need to watch it now.
Have a great one! Enjoy
more distractions here if you need them.

I'm feeling quite sleep deprived and a bit loopy. Been a long week! Hopefully this week's
playlist will entertain and, possibly, befuddle:
- The Lowdown Intro - as if the host and his room weren't fascinating enough we are quickly treated to some popping, some locking and a lot of lasers. Also known as The Greatest Combo. HT Jed.
- I Love Wiper - I love cat videos. No shame!
- Ylvis - The Fox - sometimes a video rides the borderline between completely stupid and legitimately entertaining. This music video tends to waver back and forth. You're loving it but you're hating yourself for it. Give it through the first chorus before you pass onwards.
- Vooza - Radimparency - Spot-on startup parody video. Usually I steer clear of these talking heads sort of humor but they really nail it.
- Colin Mochrie Goes to the Store - I don't know what it is and I don't want to know. Some things are best left unexplained. HT Paul.
Plenty more
over here if you're needed additional entertainment. Have a great weekend. Get some sleep!

I'll be out of town next week but will, hopefully, be able to get you some treats regardless of that absence. That being said,
enjoy this playlist - it might be the only one you get for a minute.
- Dreams Are Real - my enjoyment of this masterpiece needs no explanation.
- Russian Hovercraft Lands on Busy Beach - part of me wants to know the context behind this but, mostly, I just want to believe these guys have been lost at sea for awhile and this was the best place to land.
- Slow Ass Jolene - I had my doubts that this would be an entertaining listen but it's surprisingly great.
- Sped Up Springsteen - startlingly enough, if you speed up Springsteen, he sounds alot like Dolly.
- Glass Harmonica - File Under: a musical instrument I never knew existed. I believe it was invented by Benjamin Franklin and, at the time, was believed to insight insanity.
- What's Inside Play-Doh - not exactly a "crazy" video but it's informative and the animation is phenomenal.
Have a great weekend!

We did it! Another week tackled and successfully conquered! This weeks
playlist may not have a long run time but it's quality... imo. Let's get to it.
There's
more to see if you need it, particularly
this. Have a great weekend!

Another week, another
playlist.
- Billy Joel Goes Crazy In Concert - proof that context is everything. Watching Billy Joel lose his mind on stage, seemingly unprovoked, is hysterical and amazing. If you want the truth behind it, go read the top youtube comments.
- Daft Punk - Cat Lucky - is the combination of Daft Punk and Cats an obvious fusion for the Internet? Yes, absolutely. Is this executed better than you predict? 100%.
- Sexual Transmission - honestly, I've no idea why this exists but the pairing of youth swimming with big bold STD titles is pretty amusing. via Brian.
- Penguin Tickle - it doesn't matter if you've seen this before. See it again. And again.
- Those Darlins - OH GOD - new song / video from their forthcoming album. It's the most enjoyable thing I've heard from them yet and the new album artwork is "controversial" for whatever reason.
- Hillbilly Slide with Raccoon - The man dancing is vaguely amusing, the raccoon attempting to stop it is even better.
But enough about that, how are you? More
here or
here if ya need further entertainment.

Things have been heating up
work but that doesn't mean I don't have a quality
playlist of absurdity for you to enjoy.
- Band Brittanica - an endurance challenge that pays off. Stick with it, you get some great additional gems as you go. Okay, in all honesty, watch the first minute and know you've hit the pinnacle. OR have you?! via Aaron
- TomCatt - "The Hurt" - another endurance challenge. Less rewarding? I don't think so. Listen to it as if he's singing in a foreign tongue and it's even more rewarding. via Paul.
- Raccoon Eating Cat Food - yes, the video is about as boring as that title suggest. However, it spawned this GIF so it's not all bad.
- Los Colognes - "Working Together" - Nashville band Star Wars Disco Cantina Band - if you ever see this record, pick it up and recreate this scene. Keep in mind this is a Funk version of the Star Wars theme... why it's a Western / Flamenco themed dance sequence is beyond comprehension.
That's it! Want more?
Watch this, or
this or
these. You should be plenty entertained!
Have a great weekend.

What a week! Launched a couple sites (more on that next week) and the

Whatta week! TGIF, amirite?! Enjoy
the playlist. It's a doozie.
- Laser Frasier: Episode 1 - It's called Laser Frasier, do you even need it to be good? You should love it already.
- Blurred Lines as Cosby Show Intro - never been has there been a more perfect matching.
- Ultimate Weird Japanese Commercials Compilation - not sure it's actually the ultimate but it's a solid six minutes of weirdness. Love those Nissin commercials. Pew Pew Pew!
- Drunk History: Elvis Meets Nixon - the new Comedy Central show is in full swing. This is just a reminder of how entertaining a drunk person telling inaccurate historical statements can be.
- Perfect Polly Pet - my friend John sent me this with a warning - this will take you to the brink of madness. If you know anyone vaguely interested in this, get them help immediately.
- Tile: The World's Largest Lost and Found - maybe not Friday Video level entertaining but an interesting concept. This company is selling a dongle to help you find lost things. The device is huge for what it's meant to do and seems poorly executed in that regard. However, the idea that there could be an anonymous network of user devices to help you find your lost things is awesome. View that part here.
- Sorkinisms II - excellent repetition.
- Those Turtles - there isn't a second of this that I don't absolutely love.
Have a great weekend.

I've been traveling and holiday'ing, so the collection this week is a bit on the short side
but it's quite entertaining. I promise. Ask
Paul, he provided a good bit of the content!
- Ho Hey Harry Caray - even if you hate the Lumineers song (understandable), this will delight. Stick around for the chorus. It is perfect.
- Red Book - "Bufferin" - Jim Henson and Raymond Scott collaborative commercial for Bufferin headache medicine. This is so arty and weird that it's hard to imagine it was an actual commercial.
- C-3PO Raps, Sells Out - teaser for forthcoming new Everything Is Terrible movie.. awkward robot rapping is always enjoyed, right?
- Dog Biting Graphic - if only all news reports had such high tech graphics.
- Roger Clark plays Rush - do you think the folks at the news station hate this guy and want to embarrass him or do you think they generally agree this is true entertainment? Both options are sad.
- Bert Haanstra - Glas - this is a 10-minute documentary on glass blowing from 1959. It won an Oscar and I dont think it's really appropriate Friday Video material but it's a little something different. I suspect most of you will skip it but if you can make it to the weird industrial middle portion, it's a nice treat.
Hope you had a great fourth and are gearing up for a quality weekend.

Another week, another
playlist. The Internet giveth; forever and ever. This week's contributions may be weird but I hope you enjoy.
- America 3000 - this 1986 film trailer will take you places you never expected. Find a way to see it this weekend. via Paul.
- We Are E-Mail - can we please look back at this period of popular music as The Most Embarrassing period? Please?
- Bootleg Fireworks - NSFW language but with July 4th right around the corner, you need to resee this and remember the lessons it teaches you. Bootleg fireworks are chaotic and should be engaged in at all times.
- Exploding Actresses - this is a great video series and tumblog. It is, quite honestly, the best thing on the Internet this month.
- Catimation - watch this back to back with Hypnotoad.
- Cookizza - Jed alerted me to this New Internet Classic. It is perfection.
Have a great weekend! Dream of Cookizza!

The
playlist may not be as exhaustive as last week but it's quality. Enjoyment lies ahead.
- Hart to Hart Intro - if you've not seen the Adam Scott / Amy Poehler remake of the Hart to Hart intro, do so immediately. He's done it before and it's absurdly entertaining.
- Girl Talk Pilot - Sarah Michelle Gellar and Soleil Moon Frye had a talk show in 1989. If you can watch more than 3 minutes of this, I'll be quite impressed.
- Wanna dance with me? - NSFW language and completely nonsensical. I don't want to know the story here.. it's just ridiculous.
- Hee Haw Hambone and Eefing - five straight minutes of Hamboning and Eefing. If you don't see this as a proper precursor to the absurdity of Tim & Eric and their ilk, you're fooling yourself.
- Ham Face Girl - I realize this was posted in 2007 but it can't be seen too many times. Equal parts Adorable, Terrifying and Hilarious. via David.
- This Calls For A Celebration - celebrate good times.
Have a great weekend!

Ready for a long Memorial Day weekend? I am! So, let's begin the goofing off
immediately.
- Starburst Crazy Arms - I realize it's not an official commercial but if Skittles can be this wacky, why can't Starburst? I love it.
- Tobias Funke Viral Reel - the new season of Arrested Development starts this Sunday.. watch Tobias Funke invade popular Internet videos in anticipation.
- Mandom Gatsby - I realize I could do a very low level Internet search to find out what this ad campaign is all about but I choose not. Ignorance is bliss.
- Mad Men meets Daft Punk - if this doesn't take off as an attempted meme I'll be really surprised. That being said, it seems like the perfect mash-up has already been achieved.
- Message from Space (1978) - if your movie trailer features a pirate ship floating through space, I'm in. I am sure this movie is terrible but there's just too much to love in this trailer to not try and watch it.
- Catherine - typically the Jenny Slate & Dean Fleischer-Camp combo is obviously hilarious, albeit always a bit weird. This series for Youtube comedy week finds them leaning way more on the weird side. There's nothing funny here except how stale it is. That's the joke. And the music, which makes it creepy. I can't explain it but I'm drawn in.
- Neosignal - Planet Online - this is it. This is The Video. 80's nostalgia out the wazoo applied to Internet technology. I can, and will, watch this on repeat for the remainder of the day.
- XBox One Highlights - did you watch the XBox One announcement? Yea, no one did. But this will catch you up real quick. TV.
- Miles Fischer - Finish What We Started - just a good natured Classic Dance-Off music video. It's got it all.
- Ibizious Energy Drink - not gonna lie; the sexual elements of this video probably make it NSFW but the 80's vibe, the videogame references and just general "WTF" nature of the whole thing makes it not to be missed.
Have a great, extended, weekend!

Another week, another
playlist. Are you not entertained!? You will be.
- Guacamole - I realize these shows are rigged but this one word delivery is pretty much on the nose.
- Se7en vs The Pointer Sisters - conceptually, this is amusing. in execution, it's insanely impressive. A good edit is hard to deny. Love this.
- Tobias Funke Sizzling Reel - if you haven't taken time this week to check out the Tobias Funke viral marketing site - Insert Me Anywhere - do it now. The action hero sequences are out of this world.
- Ahmed Angle is planet - have you met Ahmed Angel? You can familiarize yourself with the whole meme here but just sit back and enjoy the Photoshopped ride. It's the best. via Paige.
- Spaced (US) - if you've not seen the UK Series Spaced make sure you watch it this weekend. If you have, check out this pilot for a US relaunch. Its never easy to see familiar characters reworked in this way.. sheesh. via Paul.
- Phantom of the Paradise - Brian De Palma's 1974 Phantom of the Opera inspired bonkers musical. How this predates the Rocky Horror Picture Show is beyond me but I'm just going to assume it's a direct influence. It looks ridiculous to say the very least.
- Supercut - Noooooooooo - nailed it.
Have a great weekend!
