Do you have big weekend plans? You should. Do something nice for yourself. You deserve it. Start it off right now by halting any amount of work you're invested in and just watching some dumb videos. Then go home for the day. You earned it.
- Robin Williams Tribute - not to be a bummer but the loss of Robin Williams is a very sad occurrence. This is a touching tribute but go watch Hook this weekend for the full Williams goodness treatment.
- Corn Dad (Official Video) - a father explains what portions of corn look like on a plate. I repeat, a father explains what portions of corn look like on a plate.
- Basement Jaxx - Never Say Never (Official Video) - twerking technology can save a relationship.
- First-person Hyperlapse Videos - kind of amazing new tech from Microsoft that shows how they're able to "smooth" out timelapse videos into a new, easier to watch, format called Hyperlapse. The examples are great! Hopefully this makes it out into the real world in some usable fashion.
- Meow Mix Song EDM Remix - you wouldn't think a popular brand of cat food would be on such a relatively hip tip but this is EDM at its finest (jokes of course).
- The Ship - a public domain music video from two of the guys that used to be in Doves. It's a great usage of this kind of footage - better than most actually - and a damn fine song.
- White Men Can't Dance - if we're being honest, I couldn't make it through this whole video but I did enjoy the pink Delorean, because how often do you see that?
- Paolo Nutini 'Iron Sky' - I posted about this recently but you really need to watch this video. At least twice.
- The Amazing Spider-Man - Music from the CBS TV Series 1978/79 - did you know the soundtrack from the 70's Spider-Man theme was funky stuff? Get into it!
Have a great weekend. Seriously.

I had some massive meetings this week and, thus, less time to browse and enjoy videos. Despite that, there is much goodness to be seen here:
If this list disappoints you, just cruise on over to

We've got a big party tonight at
VHX and I think there's been something in the air all week because the videos have been
flowing. Enjoy this entertainment.
Have a great weekend!

This week may seem a little heavy on the music videos but I promise they offer some serious entertainment. Enjoy the videos and, moreso, enjoy the weekend.
If you still need a little something more, hit up the
Summer Mix Series, enjoy some music, get inspired, and make a mix this weekend! Thanks.

The term for this weeks playlist is "Grab Bag." I mean, it's probably that term for every week as well but this week feels particularly all over the place. Enjoy!

First week back from vacation is always a bit more intense than just a regular week. So, with that in mind, watch these twice. You need your rest.
- Verschleif 4k - even with zero explanation, this is an entrancing exercise in reduction. Then when you realize it's the best usage of an edge sander in an artistic environment, well, you're sold.
- Backflipping beach guy - this seems fake. is this fake? can this be real?
- Fox go FLOOF - The title is a fair representation of the bonkers nature of the owner of this domesticated fox but I just love seeing this little guy run around!
- Pallas cat - I think I can say that this is easily my favorite video of 2014. Maybe I'll eat those words but a Pallas Cat investigating a camera with the stealth you would expect from a giant housecat is absolutely perfect. The GIF is pretty great too.
- The Best Cover to Beatles - Come Together! - this is weird and then it gets weirder and then it maintains its weirdness. Throughout the song is strange but not unenjoyable.
- Pallet Riding - not sure if this can be embedded but this guy riding a Pallet on the rails is pretty solid.
- CMT's Coffee Corner - timelapse of Rachel Briggs drawing a huge wall mural at the CMT offices. Incredibly impressive.
If you find yourself lacking some vulgarity from this weeks playlist, dive into Peter K. Rosenthal's
review of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' - hilarious in its aggression.
Have a great weekend!

I'm off to Tennessee for a week. Blogging may be sparse to completely absent. It's been six months since I've been back and I am in dire need of soaking up some quality time with friends and family. If you're looking to hang out - hit me up. If you're looking for blog content to distract you - hold tight, I'll be back soon enough.
- Perturbator - "She Is Young, She Is Beautiful ... " - still really hate the name of this band but the 8-bit hard sci-fi story here is just about enough to forgive them.
- Wally Jurassic Park - if the new Jurassic Park sequel can get anywhere close to this awesome, it wins. But let's be honest, almost nothing is better than this!
- KILL BILL (Vol 1 and 2) - 8 Bit Cinema - been kind of on a hardcore 8-bit nostalgia trip recently. Seeing videogames based on movies like this makes me yearn for a few days locked in a room playing an incredibly frustrating adaptation.
- Excuse me... - wait for it.
- I Dare You To Watch This Entire Video - pretty amazing College Humor piece that really takes you to task to test your every shortening attention span. I made it the full video because I'll be damned if some Internet video is gonna make a chump outta me!
- What a dance by a chubby Korean baby! - and here's a refresher for you from that grueling 3 minutes you just spent watching the above video proving that you're still in control.
- Fleetwoods Mr Blue Midnight Special - these guys are new to me and I'm enjoying their intensely melancholy tunes. Maybe not the most upbeat way to go out for a week but it's surprisingly pleasant.
Have a great weekend. And if I don't see ya - have a great week.

Friday the 13th! Mercury in retrograde! A full moon! Werewolves everywhere! That's the general idea at least. People do tend to get crazy on nights like this so be safe and just stay in and watch this playlist on repeat.
Have a great weekend!

Another week, another playlist! Let's see what kind of distraction and humor I can drum up for you.
- Greatest Home Run Call - is this real? Maybe not. Do I choose to believe? You better believe it.
- Eff Ate - a fun little Zuckerberg edit from psql. I'm not as bitter about Facebook as many others seem to be but it's still funny.
- Butter Ya'Self - if you told me that you had a gangsta rap video featuring a banana and a hot dog, I'd be intrigued but skeptical. Fortunately, it pays off.
- Halt and Catch Fire Main Titles - haven't seen the show yet but, holy moly, these titles are rad!
- Heavy Metal Video Game Tribute - at 17 minutes, this is a serious endurance challenge but I proudly (or sadly) proclaim that I made it through.
- John Oliver vs Net Neutrality - another lengthy video but another proper pay off, particularly the plead to the Trolls. And it seems to have worked as well, as the FCC's site was broken for a few days.
- Kitten Jam - Turn Down For What - think of a cat video and boil it down to its simplest elements. This is that form but still maintaining its entertainability.
- Luigi Ridin' Dirty - Mario Kart 8 Death Stare from Luigi really took off this week and I'm enjoying it. See lots more.
Are there more
awesome videos that you
really must see? Yes. But I can only cover so much ground.

I can not believe it's almost June. Inconceivable. Don't ever let anyone tell you that as you get older the days go by slower. Patently untrue! Enjoy this week's playlist - this is the only spot you can see it!
- Two Dots - if you've not played Two Dots yet, get to it! The gameplay and music are phenomenal.
- Tipper Whore Party Program - this is basically what tonight will be like at The Stone Fox. If you're in the Nashville area, go see it.
- 92 Dreamin - combine 80's aesthetic with Tony Hawk style skateboard interactions. Done.
- Google Test Drive - taking the Self-Driving Car out for a spin. I guess I get why they made it look like a kids playtoy but it really doesn't fill me with a sense of safety when I look at this thing.
- JohnnyExpress - awesome animated short featuring a lot of accidental mayhem.
- Cutest Cosplay of All Time - if I ever have children, I hope to dress them like this 24 hours a day.
- Edgar Wright - How to Do Visual Comedy - incredibly compelling case study on exactly what it is that makes Edgar Wright's filmmaking style so superior to your regular run of the mill comedy; it's in the edit.
Have a great weekend!

Trying something a
little different this week. No permalink on the playlist - you wanna watch it, just click that gif and watch it here! Not that crazy but different enough for me to make note of.
Enjoy this playlist.. there's plenty of
amusing content out there for you to enjoy, but I selected these in particular:
- Hey Cat. Hey - let's start simple. Just a cat saying Hey.
- The Spielberg Oner - kind of hate the term "oner" but this look at Spieldberg's use of long, continuous shots is nice. You don't think of him as using such a technique but that's just evidence of how good he is at it.
- BUTTS - sometimes it's easy to cheer up a friend. Love the moon at the end.
- "Her" Parody with Steve Brule - yes, these parody videos are highly overdone but the Steve Brule chortle gets me every time. I can't help it.
- John Lewis 150th Anniversary - a very Wes Anderson-y commercial featuring Gaz Coombes singing a classic Kinks song. Hard not to like.
- Broad City: Do The Right Thing - if you haven't watched the web series version of Broad City, you're missing out. This takes a good 3 minutes to really kick in but the reward is worth it. Stick with it.
Have a great weekend!

Lots to do today so I'll keep this short but, please,
enjoy these offerings and do not miss the bonus at the bottom.. can't embed it for some reason.
Also be sure to watch
Start Puffing Boy - a drugged out, bizarre cut of King of the Hill where Bobby tries smoking. It's a phenomenal, absurd, somewhat insane and creepy piece of work. The Internet needs more stuff like this.
Have a great weekend!

Glad the weekend is upon us. These work weeks are rather intense these days, huh? Amirite? Just kidding, work is great. Can't wait to show off some big new things. In the meantime, enjoy this
playlist, as usual.
- Cat Headshot - the feline depicted in this is, obviously, quite fine but I can't even comprehend how they managed to catch this and who decided it was a great idea to put it into the show. Ridiculous.
- Mercury Mistress - this is an old SNL commercial that I managed to miss up until now. Obviously it's old news but I love Chris Parnell.
- Webdriver Torso - I'm sorry. I've no idea what this channel is. Absolutely none. It's baffling but I'm mesmerized by its mystery. via John.
- Tiny Hamster Eating a Tiny Pizza - the series continues. I approve.
- The Faint - Evil Voices - I wasn't sold on the new stuff I was hearing from The Faint until I ran across this. This is the Faint style I like best.
- Shocking Family Feud Fast Money - heads up, this is not funny. You keep waiting for the funny but it never comes. Only sadness. Not that you feel genuine sadness for a family on a gameshow but, man, what a heartbreaking turn of events.
- TMBG - Am I Awake fan video - Overall, They Might Be Giants hasn't put out a lot of stuff that I really love the past few years. However, this song was always great and this video is just the perfect level of creepy. Watch it twice, at least.
- The 90's Alt-Rock Vocal Hook Supercut - because we all love nostalgia from the 90's.
Have a great weekend!

As VHX continues to grow in the digital distribution department, the Community side gets neglected a little bit (officially, it's entirely unsupported). So, this weeks
playlist looks a little short but that's just because I couldn't add some videos for whatever reason. Regardless, enjoy!
- Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos - uh, yes please! This is labeled as "Episode 1" so I really look forward to how this develops into more tiny foods.. or just more tiny burritos.
- ZomBeavers Trailer - this is beyond dumb and it hits on every single mark that you would expect it to.
- 56K Modem Remix - I enjoyed this FAR too much. via Forest.
- Drag Queen Entrance - I really don't care that this is a drag queen and I'm sure this is rather old hat for lots of you but it was new to me. The actual entrance is hilarious and unexpected.
Additively, you really should watch these:
- Jackson Browne - Lawyers in Love - this video is weird. Period. I mean, it starts with a floating drummers arm and quickly transitions to youthful aliens visiting him at home. Very bizarre.
- The Grand Budapest Hotel VFX Breakdown - call me ignorant (or optimistic) but I did not realize Anderson leaned so heavily on CG effects for set dressing and mood. He does a fine job of it but it's probably one of the clear differences between pre-Fantastic Fox Anderson and post.
- Fire Season by The Revival Hour - if you did not watch this earlier in the week, please do so now.
Take some time to listen to this
Mount Sharp song. Please and thank you. That's it! Have a great weekend.

Technically I have today off work, but I'm still sitting on the ole computer just browsing around and looking at dumb videos. You know,
these. Enjoy!
- Nissin Commercial - I love this because there isn't a moment of it that I understand. I don't even want to understand it. I just enjoy it for what it is.
- Worst Wheel of Fortune Contestant Ever - I mean, poor dude, right? But definitely better than this poor guy.
- Obvious Child Trailer - It's a shame that Jenny Slate was let go from SNL after her one season but this movie looks pretty entertaining. Looking forward to it.
- Bear on Stairs - this is not computer generated animation! It's actually a series of 3D printed models done in traditional stop motion style. Love it.
- Pharrell - Happy (No Music Version) - I wish they'd pushed this further into These People Look Crazy territory but it's still solid.
- Hulk Kid gets mad from Mama Jokes - I love this video. I made plenty of crude computer art growing up but the tools are so much more robust now you can make some pretty epic things - like these kids having an awesome afternoon. This is 100% not mocking.. it's just pure entertainment.
Unfortunately these two videos are not setup for embedding but I highly recommend them:
- The Futility of Existence - just soak this in. Don't jump ahead.. just enjoy the struggle.
- Japanese Racing Rendition - I've likely seen this before but it still strikes me as from another world. Make it a full minute, that's when the real insanity starts.
Have a great weekend!

Some weeks yield more fruit than others and this
weeks playlist feels rather delightful. Enjoy.
- The Worf of Starfleet - maybe this parody has already made the rounds. Maybe I'm entirely behind on this but, man, I am loving this. Incredibly well done and I love a solid Michael Dorn quote.
- Beck "Black Tambourine" - how have I never seen this video? Can someone recreate it with ASCIIcam?
- Chicken Nugger - sometimes I delve into /r/DeepIntoYoutube and emerge with incredibly weird gems like this one.
- Food Reviewer: BK Rodeo Chicken Sandwich - it's been 6 months since the Food Reviewer has posted any of his incredibly earnest takes on food. I want to make sure it is clear that I don't enjoy this as a means to mock this kid.. I enjoy it because he's reviewing terrible food and giving absolutely serious takes on how it sits with him. There's something hysterical about the calmness of it.
- Rise of the Patent Troll - a quality video from Kirby Ferguson on a rather important topic. I will talk more about this later I am sure. Do your homework, watch this.
- Imagine the Band - what happens when you take an instrumental version of "Imagine" and an acapella version of "Band on the Run"? Magic, that's what.
- Let's Get Social - admittedly, I feel real bad for this girl and even worse for whoever wrote this. Be sure to read along with the lyrics.
- Wish I Was Here - Trailer 2 - did you see the official teaser trailer for Zach Braff's new movie? Well, make sure you watch this second version to really get some enjoyment.
- Uncle Skeleton - "VHF" - I've been posting about this all week and my desire to have it be seen by as many eyes as possible. So, of course, I'm including here.
- 50 Cent dubbed with Jehovah's Witnesses want Deaf People to Stop Masturbating - don't care if it's legit. don't care if i've posted it before. this is too entertaining to not just enjoy again.
I'm off to DC for the weekend. Hit me up on the
tweets if you know of something I should absolutely not miss while I'm there.
Have a great weekend!

Every week I feel like work gets more and more intense - which means less browse time for videos. This is far from a complaint - just a warning that Friday videos may become a solid four each week instead of six minimum. Better to fade away gently, right? All jokes aside, I think you'll enjoy
this playlist.
Have a great weekend!
