• Farfel and Nestle, 1992 - Farfel the Dog is from the 50's and was resurrected in the early 90's for a Nestle commercial. It's terrifying in the best way.
• Secret World of Stuff, Supercut No 1 - adorable short animations of random things around your world. via kottke.
• Jon Sudano - Wonderwall - if you are not aware of Jon Sudano's archive of covers, take a moment to dive in a bit. Songs you know, with Smashmouth lyrics. All of them. Every single one. via Daniel.
• The 25 Best Films of 2016 - this is, admittedly, 13 minutes and I know you don't have that much time on your hands but it's an impressive homage to the past year in film.
• How David Blaine Barfs Frogs - I assume you saw that clip where David Blaine blew some minds, here's how he did it. The answer is Occam's Razor.
• Okey Dokey - Congenial Man - I try not to post too many music videos in a Friday video list if I can help but this I'm loving everything I've heard from these guys so far (okay, two songs) and enjoy the video quite a bit.
• Jurassic Park Melodica Cover - I know it's coming every time and it still gets me every time.
• Julian Casablancas - I Wish It Was Christmas Today - take a silly SNL skit have Julian Casablancas cover it, play on repeat.

December already, huh? That time of year when we round up our favorites from the previous eleven months and do our best to wind down for a little bit. At least, that's how I see it.

• The VVitch as Wes Anderson Movie - on one level, this works as a funny editing exercise. On another level, it doesn't work at all because The VVitch was terrifying and no amount of pink lettering can offset that fear.
• Doot Star - and here's a Shrek'ed out Skull Trumpet playing Smash Mouth; just to keep things balanced in the world.
• Go-Go Dancer Loop - there are various TV's all around the Vimeo office that you can put any video up on, looping forever. This is a perfect candidate and has been pleasing our office all week.
• Walk the Dinosaur - in hunting down various versions of the Was (Not Was) classic, we stumbled on this bizarre Chuck-E-Cheese fan video. It's a video that goes from weird and cutesy (for kids!) on a brief watch and becomes unbearable and nightmarish the more you subject yourself to it. I assume most kids programming works this way.
• Unrest in Westworld - how about a Protomen song blended with the original Westworld film? Yep, perfect.
• All I Want For Christmas is Halloween - a pretty good song featuring some adorable little ghouls.
• Big Black Delta - Bitten by the Apple - the official video for this great song off of Tragame Tierra is perfect.
• Thunder - I shouldn't have but I died laughing.

Going with a classic for the cover art this week. With Thanksgiving hanging heavy in the air, it just makes sense to pay tribute to the best Pizza Rolls Distraction GIF out there.

• Goddesses of Creation - a ridiculous 'cut for time' SNL sketch. I'd watch a full 22 minutes of this.
• Bev n Bob - Bring Me to Life - there's a deep hole of Bev n Bob videos to explore but this seems like the best place to start. via Paige.
• Cher and David Bowie Medley - for a brief moment, Bowie sings Nilsson. Overall, they really tear through a dense medley.
• Raccookin' Pumpkin Pie - Geico nails this parody with some Raccoon cooking tutorials. Feels weird posting a blatant ad but I legitimately enjoy it. Also, there's more.
• The Glass Menagerie - I Said Goodbye to Me - stumbled on this late 60's band covering Nilsson. They never put out a full record but it sounds like they should have.
• The Moon is a Planet - some really uplifting arguing on QVC about the moon.
• Lazy Town - We Are Number One (Dank Edition) - this one goes deep. Many references here that should not be understood. It's weird but oddly infectious. There, I said it.

My weeks at work have been extremely intense as of late, so I don't have a ton of time to browse and cull together massive lists of distractions for you. That being said, I'll do my best here.

• Bobby Jones presents Michelle Branch, The Spirit Room - there's not much here but I'm baffled by why this exists. Check out his video list, there's more than one of these. It's a remarkably absurd thing.
• Michael Kiwanuka - One More Night - loving the alternative format of this video (ultra ultra widescreen) and the reveal is pretty great.
• PWR BTTM - Carbs - these guys have plenty of legit, great songs but this is a particularly ridiculous gem.

Alright folks, let's do our damndest to enjoy some levity and distraction. Not always the healthiest move in the long term but feels good in the short term.

• Whose Mom Is This? - miserable music, solid moves.
• Youtube VR app - semi-literally immerse yourself in YouTube. Is there a Lawnmower Man 360 experience yet?
• Trashcan Beatdown - the triumph of spirit.
• Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets - Luc Besson has a questionable track record but I'll watch this, why not?
• Jason at Adobe Max - been sitting on this gem from Jez for awhile. It's delightfully miserable.
• Raccoon Compilation - I openly admit my obsession with The Pet Collective is absurd but I can't not love on a raccoon compilation. These lovable scamps are undeniable.
• Uptown Funk You Up - I believe they call this Pure Bliss.
• Bill Bailey's Message to Metallica - wait for it. Don't skip ahead. Just wait for it.

You know what I discovered this week? Giphy Originals. I can only assume these folks are Giphy Staff just throwing a bunch of reactions your way to use whenever you'd like. Hopefully they start sprouting up in your /giphy calls in Slack. Also, Floating Hamburgers.

• Look at this Cat! She Thinks She's a Show Horse - the music is a real added treat.
• Idiots - an affable British man implores you to help America "Be the Bigger Moron." Election Day is Tuesday. Let's not screw it up.
• Samantha Bee's Trump Conspiracy Theory - she makes a compelling case. At least as compelling as any of the mud slung at Clinton and certainly much funnier.
• How I Became the Bomb - Break Hearts - if you missed this post earlier this week, don't sleep. Great video.
• Foxygen - Follow the Leader - do you miss the days when a 70's fop could prance around a playground and it wasn't creepy? Well, Foxygen got you covered.
• Bill Murray sings Take Me Out to the Ballgame - there's plenty of great video of Bill Murray losing his mind in elation after the Cubs win and this piece of him singing as Daffy Duck is a nice gateway into the madness.
• This is the way I want you to drink it - another prime example of how context can ruin a thing. Just enjoy, don't ask questions.
• Doggo's Adventure - waiiiit for it.

• That Time of Year Again - you can't escape it. You will hear about this again and again over the next month.
• How to change your IP Address from Static to Dynamic - is this video trolling? Is this an SEO trick? I can not comprehend the horrendous quality mixed with hip-hop mixed with legitimately insightful tutorial. The Internet is truly a strange place.

• Psychogenic Fugue - what would you say if I told you that there's a 20-minute short film, funded by Squarespace, that features John Malkovich portraying seven famous scenes and characters from David Lynch films? There's also a soundtrack of David Lynch music performed by the likes of the Flaming Lips and Angelo Badalamenti. Yea, you'd doubt it was real. But it's very real and the trailer is pretty awesome.
• Introducing G Suite - you may not be excited by new Google offerings but the style of this ad is phenomenal.
• Mamy Yoko - after a stressful week this feels like the perfect break. On repeat for days. Via Chad.
• Pen Pineapple Apple Pen - sometimes it's best to know as little about a thing as possible. This is a great example.
• Teddy Ruxpin is Back - and they made the eyes creepier than ever. I look forward to the future memes exposing this nightmare fuel.
• 80's SynthAxe Demo - I don't suggest watching the entire 14 minute demo but just scrub through and appreciate the presentation of such an awesome looking absurdity.
• SpaceX Interplanetary System - kind of an insane ad from Elon Musk and SpaceX showing how a Mars colony could exist. It's slow and not that compelling but bonkers to think that this is going to be a real thing, likely in our lifetime.

You may also be interested in Trump Sniffs Compilation or Trump Beat ISIS but I can't bring myself to enjoy anything involving this truly horrible person.

• Jimmy Fallon loves Donald Trump - lots of hub-bub last week when Fallon had Trump on his show and treated him like a goofy little so-and-so. Anyone that thinks we shouldn't expect more of Fallon should read this. Anyway, not getting political because Super Deluxe reworked the clip brilliantly and accurately.
• Save the Day - a talking heads video filled with celebrities reminding you to vote. Standard issue stuff until they break the fourth wall and mock themselves. It works.
• Deer and Bunny Playing - I don't care how AFHV this is, it warms the heart.
• Bertie Higgins - Key Largo - this song is enjoyable but the video leaves me with many questions. What is his necklace? Is that woman his lover? His daughter? Is a sweater appropriate beach wear? Is a sports coat and hawaiian shirt coming back? Is it already over?
• I Can Go For Sax - I just wanted to let you all know that I still listen to this regularly and still love it.
• LA Gifathon - you may recall the NYC Gifathon. This is the same but more LA.

There's also this new auto-lacing Nike show (it's real) and Hillary on Between Two Ferns. Enjoy.

I have no idea what that Nicolas Cage GIF is from and I don't want to know. My ignorance allows my imagination to conjure any number of situations in which this may have occured and they are all infinitly better than finding out it's just a loop from a movie. Ignorance truly is bliss when concerning Nicolas Cage.

• Rapping ToastDogs - my expectations were low and my enjoyment was off the charts. HT @misscrisp
• Leafblower Volcano - I can't help but think I've seen this before but the finale was such a treat it's worth reseeing.
• Yaaas Pokemon - perfectly stupid.
• Phantom of Paradise - every few years, this Brian de Palma film comes through my life and I'm reminded how empty my life is for still not having watched the entire thing.
• Wake Me Up - can you tell that I've been diving back into YouTube Haiku?
• Phil Lynott - Old Town - I was not until recently that I learned the singer of Thin Lizzy had some solo material. It's good. Real good. Thanks Austin.
• Dancing Man - my buddy Jamie is coming into town this weekend and there's nothing he enjoys more than an enthusiastic dance expression. This is for him.

I also really enjoyed this and this but didn't want to overwhelm you with absurd short clips. Or maybe I do.

• Self-Proclaimed Idiot Hops Frieght Trains to Montauk - typically I would not recommend such a thing but it's an amusing 5 minute story. Well done self-proclaimed idiot.
• Don't Won't Listen to Owner (Subtitled) - yes, this is from 2012. yes, you've seen it. No, it hasn't lost a single bit of luster.
• 9/11 Mattress Commercial - is this real? Can this possibly be real? It can't be real.
• Joyce Wrice "Ain't No Need" - you like Vaporwave? you like cheesy 80's graphics? You like a diamond cutout with a bunch of ferns? I got you covered. Not enthralling but a solid vibe.
• Tough Guy Trump - I kind of hate linking anything having to do with Trump because even mocking him is giving him space in your brain that he doesn't deserve.

Was having a tough time picking this weeks cover art as I sorta wanted to go with this guy or maybe one of these gems but, ultimately, I think I made the right call.

• Uncle Skeleton "A&O" - little self-indulgent promo here for the latest Uncle Skeleton record, Cocoa Beach. Watch the video, enjoy the album.
• Bill Clinton loves Police Academy - SuperDeluxe takes that DNC anecdote and amplifies it just right.
• Cat Curling - perfect.
• Monster Trucks trailer - I watched it and I didn't hate it. I hated myself for not hating it but I didn't hate it.
• Animals Being Weirdos - there's no shortage of Funny Animal Compilation videos out there but the Pet Collective seems to have the greatest taste in clips for my money.
• All Star lyric video - this is weird and then it gets real weird and then it gets really weird. Can you endure?
• Gene Wilder, Master of the Comedic Pause - nice tribute to Mr. Wilder and a great reminder to revisit his body of work in its entirety.

As previously mentioned, it's Weird Fears birthday! So, go listen to that today and then go see Mount Sharp in Brooklyn tomorrow night. Gonna be good.

• Ben Dover at Newsmeum - First, be aware that there is a Newsmeum that lets anyone record their own news report and the full archive is unbelievable. Your entire weekend is now booked watching these loonies. second, thanks to Sage Boggs for making the world aware of this. Ben Dover, shown in the above video, is a pure reflection of the awkwardness in all of us. Just don't miss out on Bill, Dancin' Ashley or this compilation either.
• San Francisco Dog Bumpers - I want to watch this on repeat for days.
• DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak - take this video, re-film it and put it to a badass song. Magic. (NSFW language)
• Antonio Banderas: Hacker - there's a lot to enjoy here but I think the computer interface may be the best part... and that's saying a lot.
• Japanese McDonalds ads - I dunno how I ended up here but I highly enjoyed this strange compilation of early 80's McDonald's ads from Japan.
• Otter Juggling Stones - you now have a new aspirational goal to reach. Be this happy.
• The Secrets of "Daydreaming" - Rishi Kaneria goes deep inspecting the meaning behind Radiohead's epic video and song. I think it's safe to say there are some giant leaps being taken here but it's still interesting to see it dissected.

• Bobby Badfingers - Dueling Banjos - honestly, this is the only video I should post this week. It has everything an individual needs for Internet Sustenance.
• Squirrel GoPro POV - in my heart of hearts, I know this was faked somehow. I choose to believe it is real.
• Rogue One - Sabotage - a recut Star Wars trailer to Beastie Boys "Sabotage" should be something I could turn my nose up to but I absolutely can not. Pretty dang perfect.
• Lasagna Cat 4/25/1979 - how long has it been since you visited the weirdness of Lasagna Cat? Too long I'm sure. Go for the bad Garfield, stay for the bad music video.
• The Most Accurate Hacking Scene Ever - I couldn't even make it through the whole scene but the initial visualizations of the hack were well worth it.
• Batman Converses with Himself - for everyone that ever made fun of Christian Bale's gruff voice in the Dark Knight series, see the other side of the coin.
• Don't Hug Me I'm Scared Hidden Lore - I have taken a deep dive into this Youtube theory videos. The narration can be a bit burdeonsome but the content is worth a ponder. I am convinced that show has levels we have yet to understand.

Biggest news this week, the release of Uncle Skeleton's new record Cocoa Beach. You can hear it anywhere music is available - Spotify, on vinyl if that's your thing.

• DANIELS - Nike Ad - hot on the heels of their full-length movie, Swiss Army Man, comes a Nike commercial that feels sorta normal at first and then takes a deep plunge into weirdness. Just like you'd expect from DANIELS.
• Chef No. 5 - Mambo No 5 was made for this.
• Mark Ronson - Feel Right - somehow I'd never seen this video for the Mystikal heavy song. Perfect.
• Sonic and Mario Cut Scene - this is a slow burn but if you can stand in there, it's weirdness is worth your time.
• PJ Harvey "The Wheel" (Live) - not really a funny video but I had no idea PJ Harvey could wail on a saxophone. Love it.
• Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 6 - I just watched what I assume is the finale last night and am floored by how dark they managed to go with this series. Heavy.
• Orion Beach - an oldie but still a goodie. Perfect for summer.

Fact, before sleep most nights I cruise around imgur and fill my head with delightful nonsense. It helps break up the bad news of the day. You stumble upon gems like this guy or this guy. It works. Try it out.

• The Java Rap Life - Oracle released this video to... hype people up? Turn people away from programming? I'm not entirely sure what they were thinking but it's an Endurance Challenge to withstand. I could not make it past 30sec.
• Tickled Trailer - I need to see this movie. The trailer starts hilarious and then goes quite bizarre. I'm sold.
• Foo Fighters - THE BEST - I thought this was going to be a serious endurance challenge but I made it all the way through, no problem.
• Skull Trumpet Storm - I think my favorite video online is Skull Trumpet. It's 2s of absolute perfection. This video takes it to a terrible place but it still feels great.
• Stranger Things Sitcom Intro - perfect selection of scenes and music.
• Mom's Gonna Freak - the visual content is not so important, it's the perfect audio.
• The Nerves - Hanging on the Telephone - I had no idea that the Blondie song was a cover. The original is pretty damn good too.
• Kanye West's Favorite Noises - there's also his favorite animals and his favorite foods if you're curious to learn more.
• Parrot Gif Onslaught - refreshing.

I haven't dug in yet but this episode of First We Feast with David Cross torturing himself with Hot Wings looks fairly promising.
