Democratic Primaries in 8 Minutes
In case you had a hard time following the Democratic primaries, the attached video will catch you up in a quick and informative manner. Obviously quite a bit is omitted in terms of what the Republicans were up to and any involvement that Ralph Nader may or may not have but that's sorta the point.. it's focused on the Democratic race.

School of Language via Retread Sessions
The KUT
Retread Sessions have posted two songs from their performance of
School of Language. I'm sort of blown away by how well his voice holds up live.

Slow Mo Punch
This
Slow Motion Punch video would make for a great jewel in the crown of a Friday video post but the Internet moves at breakneck speeds (no pun intended) and it would be out dated by that time. So,
watch it and enjoy.. the facial expressions of getting walloped in the face are absolutely unbelievable.

The Shame of Politics
Politics are always a mess. People are usually very passionate about certain issues or completely ignorant of them. That being said I think these two videos show a side of things that people need to be aware of.
1) Politicians are two-faced and deploy quite a bit of doublespeak. I don't think Obama and Hilary are devoid of this either but since I'm more liberal leaning I'm more prone to show that the Conservatives are just all over the place. Personally I really respected McCain in the 2000 election cycle even though I didn't agree with him - since then he has fallen into "towing the party line" and being a former shell of his independent thinking self. Sad really.
2) Voters are idiots. By no means do I claim to be
well informed on the issues - not by far. However, watching the video of potential West Virginia voters is infuriating because they claim to be Democrats but would easily switch to voting for a Republican because of perceived notions that they just completely made up. The rampant racism and ignorance (i.e. you
have to be a natural US citizen to be President lady, duh) is infuriating.
That's it for today.. must get back to work but hopefully this will get people talking somewhat.

Elitism
So, the
Daily Show did a little piece on Barack Obama's recent comments in Pennsylvania regarding elitism. Honestly, I can see them as functioning as a rather harmful audio snippet against his whole campaign but Jon Stewart and crew shed some light on the larger issue at hand. Are Presidential candidates elitist? Absolutely! I've often thought about the fact that running for President means that you're a total egomaniac who believes their ideas are
the best. That isn't to say they are terrible people but certainly a different mindset than the majority of us.
I do find it interesting that Barack will probably have to seriously step up to the plate to defend those comments while Hillary comes out and
openly admits that she lied about her recent comments on her experience in Bosnia. Yet she's not catching serious flack for openly lying and saying "oh yea, sorry about that."
Overall, politics are exhausting to keep up with and include a huge amount of ridiculousness - fortunately places like The Daily Show help to expose that absurdity. Via
Zea.

Forest City Rockers
I love the character design in the
Forest City Rockers Motorcycle Club - courtesy of the artworks of
Jay Howell. It's not for everybody but I love the style and hilarity of the presentation.. so over the top. I mean, it's a Motorcycle Club with just one motorcycle, how great is that?

A More Perfect Union
Honestly, I consciously avoid political speak for the most part on this site because most of the time it's entirely depressing. However, this
speech from Barack Obama is an incredible piece of work - in the best way possible. One of Obama's biggest 'drawbacks' is his inexperience but if inexperience is the culprit for having the attitude and insight shown in this speech, I'm all for it. His speech feels nothing like rhetoric and entirely like honest passion for the subject. A rarity.

Audience of One
Watch that trailer (stick with it, slow at first) and
try to tell me you don't want to see both the documentary and the real film! The film itself looks like it will be an onslaught of terrible acting, possibly equally terrible effects and surprises I can't even begin to imagine. The documentary looks like it will wrangle the massive realm of delusion that the filmmaker is living in. To me, this is all I needed to read:
A documentary following a Pentecostal minister who receives a vision from God to create an epic science fiction movie.
