NSAG: Hollie Chastain: Summer Book Club

Hollie Chastain
Daniel never ceases to amaze me with his curation of the Smallest Art Gallery. The latest installment is Summer Book Club from Chattanooga artist Hollie Chastain. Her series of mixed media pieces done on old books is the perfect appeal of ambiguous illustration and naturally appealing weathered surfaces. I'm definitely a fan.

Dr Kennedy Jones

Dr. Kennedy Jones
I am a total sucker for antique paper texture. Combine that with some vintage images collaged with various colorful textures and I am fully intrigued. Such is the case with the selective works of Dr. Kennedy Jones - all of the elements I'm drawn to are present and accounted for. I'm much more partial to the pieces with old photographs worked in rather than the silhouettes but there are good parts to it all. Also be sure to check out the flickr photostream for more random works and sources of inspiration for the pieces.

Lake Fever Sessions: Black Hollies

I love it when Lake Fever Sessions post up a new session from a band that I've heard of but haven't really taken the time to consume properly - as it gives me the perfect excuse to spend some time with an artist that's already been vetted by friends of mine. Such is the case with the just launched session from The Black Hollies - a band obviously heavily influenced by mid-Sixties gems. I'm enjoying the listen and am fairly sure you will too:
