Nashville is far too often described as the home of country music. Granted, it has its fair share of songwriters gunning for that next big hit combined with some of the biggest country music artists on the market but that should not detract from the fact that rock music does live here. Lots of it. So much of it in fact that I had a hard time picking what artists would make this mix and which would get cut. I even broke my cardinal rule of mixes and extended the running time by about a minute too long.
So not everything that could be here is fully represented. The likes of Self and The Features are more national acts now than they are Nashville area bands so they've been excluded. And as much as it pains me to say it, Gold Room, Aireline, and Character are no longer together. Bands like The Privates, The Turncoats, and The Hot Pipes are also top quality.. they just didn't make the cut..
And there you have it.. Nashville has too much great music for one mix. Enjoy it and be sure to investigate the full albums from these bands. I recommend each and every one.
