Tetrachromats

FACT: Some women are Tetrachromat's - seeing four independent primary colors rather than three. According to this it's a color somewhere between red and blue, which enables them to see millions of additional colors beyond what the rest of us see. Men can not have this ability.

FACT: 1 in 20 men suffer from color blindness - impairing their ability to distinguish between certain colors. Only one in two hundred women suffer from this.

CONCLUSION: Based on stereotypical interaction between men and women there is a possible valid scientific reasoning for women being more curious over color choices than men.

Maybe a bit of a stretch but I think the two factoids together make for an interesting bit of contemplation.
